The interior walls of the Beechwood library are lined with college pennants representing the colleges at which the school's students have matriculated - from Amherst to Yale, as far west as Southern Cal and as far east as Maine, as common as Kentucky and uncommon as the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
And after Wednesday's signing ceremony in that library, the school is in need of a Central Michigan pennant.
Beechwood senior football player Dominic Mainello, a 6-foot-5, 260-pound lineman, signed a National Letter of Intent with the Chippewas, making good on an oral commitment he made before last season.
"Everything felt right up there," said Mainello, an all-state offensive lineman who also started on defense for back-to-back state championship teams. "I think I'll fit there and I'll thrive there."
Purdue, Kentucky, Cincinnati and Michigan State were recruiting Mainello before he orally committed to Central Michigan in July.

Congrats to Dominc. This young man was an incredible football player, but equally a great person.
I would have loved to see him at either UK or UC, but it was greate seeing the recruiting process for him. Great job and good luck.
