Capitalism or Socialism?
#1
Which do you prefer?
#2
I see no one wants to touch on this.

"...not that any would be hard pressed, but that there would be equality." This comes from The Book of Acts in what christian's call "the new testament." So, I guess, Christians favor socialism.

How are you coming up with that?

I am for Socialism...NOT COMMUNISM! Some of our nations allies are socialist countries. France, UK, Canada, ECT... I actually wouldnt mind some free health care..

The good news of the Gospel suggested to poor people, "poor" not simply defnined as economic poverty, but also dispossessed, forgotten, basically, the least and last and lost of the earth that their very poverty was a sign of "god's" nearness. Of course, in the Lexxus Gospel, this is ignored. In early Acts, all the believers were gathered and shared possessions and were known for this. That's where I'm coming up with that. Jesus didn't check with Adam Smith or Keynes to form an economic strategy.

Its a black and white poll. I tend to operate in the gray area.

Both have their drawbacks.

Why isn't both an option? I believe in order to get to socialism (and it actually work) capitalism must take place in order to create an abundance of goods...

Where has socialism ever worked?

It hasn't. And it will never work until capitalism has ran its course. Without an abundance of goods socialism will not work. Marx's socialism is a world wide phenomenon not a county by country idealism.

So goodbye to your paychecks if you want socialism. I had a professor from Norway, which is a socialist country, and he moved to America becuase the government was so ineffecient with everything. Doctors saw younger patients first because of future earning potential, they payed about 65% of their pay into taxes, he said it was a huge mess. Plus do you remember the heat related deaths in France a few years ago, it was becuase the elderly were skipped treatment in favor of younger patiences despite the severity of their illness. Plus in a capitalist society you have the money you earn, if you're broke its becuase you choose to be. i know many people that have come from nothing and have a lot of money. You just have to have a strong desire and work ethic and you can succeed in life.

Capitalism is the way to go.

I think those people who desire to live under an oppressive socialist system should move to a country where socialism is practiced and live for a while. I guarantee they wont be able to get back here fast enough.

Plenty of people work forty or more hours a week and are broke after they pay their bills. Your "people are only broke if they choose to be" idea doesn't cut it as a general statement. Plenty of people are broke because of their choices...I don't dispute that. But your black and white blanket statements above ain't exactly sounding the deep water.

I think this quote applies better to resistance of the Patriot Act.
