Junior Quin McDay rushed for four touchdown to lead Newport (2-2).

Newport scored 31 points in the second quarter to lead 38-6 at halftime. Senior Sean Gross also caught two 9-yard touchdown passes.

Sophomore Matthew Shephard added a 40-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Dayton senior Derrick Buchanan had a 1-yard touchdown.

Newport plays host to Estill County at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 25. Dayton plays at Beechwood at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 25.
