Allen Co-Scottsville vs. Boyle Co. (4A State Finals)
adopted purple Wrote:This is Allen Countys first state championship game in any sport. They have never made it to the finals in any sport. They are really excited and rightfully so.

Are you sure they didn't make the finals in softball a few years back?
RebelPride12 Wrote:Looking at the teams that Boyle has played and defeated if the Boyle schedule was ranked from 1-15 what ranking does Allen County-Scottsville have? Is there anyone with enough knowledge of all the teams Boyle has played to accurately rank them? I was wondering where ACS would fall in rankings compared to everyone else on Boyle's schedule.

I'll take a shot at ranking them. Boyle played 2 teams twice, so I only listed them once. Once I put them in order, I went with Massey's ranking to place ACS:

Bell County
Christian County
Johnson Central
Allen County-Scottsville
Lexington Catholic
East Jessamine
Danville
Lafayette
West Jessamine
Corbin
Franklin County
Mercer County
Bourbon County
Acs
FWIW, MaxPreps lists Boyle as their 6th ranked team in the state (overall) and ACS as their 17th.

Does anyone know the sizes of the ACS offensive line?
ACS-49 FS-28
FS-6 WC-7
FS-0 BG-35
WC-17 BG-14
WC-26 CHRIST-27
BG-10 CHRIST-14
BOYLE-49 CHRIST-33
BOYLE-45 LEX CATH-35
LO-33 LEX CATH-25
LO-35 FS-32
ACS-35 LO-28
This is the only way i could think to compare the teams and by looking at all the scores I understand why Boyle is the top dog but still to me ACS has the best chance to knock them off out of any of these teams.ACS 25 Boyle 25

All the talk about rankings and who beat who is making my ears bleed. If I read one more post about strength of schedule blood will shoot out of my eyes. Is it Friday yet?
I think the Rebels strength of schedule this season will be a huge advantage going into Fridays championship game.
ugh!!!
fanof87 Wrote:ugh!!!

Just messin with ya fanof87, I think we're seeing more talk on here of stats, strength of schedule, ect. because these two teams really are two different teams that haven't played a common opponent. It ought to be a really intense game Friday because that's when both teams, fans, and coaches will see just how each team will respond or match up with the other.

These things are rarely settled on a football forum (i've yet to witness one teams fans convince the others that they are going to get defeated on any given night), but that's ultimately what these forums are for, to talk about every aspect of each others teams. It really doesn't matter until after the coin toss!

I enjoy the back and forth on this sight. Using stats and logic is better than the o'l My dad can beat up your dad approach that some use.
What kind of size does ACS have on thier O & D lines?also what is the best exit to take to get to the stadium?i think i took the wrong one last year cause i came in on the back side of the stadium.
Good Luck to Boyle Co and a friend of mine Zack Massengill.
Just how good is the Allen Co. running game?Does AC have any passing game at all?How their kicking game? These are just a few questions I have.Allen Co.better have a real good running game, some kind of passing game and kicking game or this game will be over by halftime. All I can say is good luck.
GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Bring home No. 7.

just watched the lone oak game on ihigh, they can run...passing not as much, but they can
For you ACS fans who think Boyle is a run only team because of thier stats.they are very misleading.Boyle may line up in the wishbone,5 wide.1 back set,or 2 back set.they may run a no huddle 2 minute offense, and the QB can kill ya with his feet.they are very versitile on offense.you never know what thier gonna do,and the thing about it is they do it all equally well.they are very hard to defend.

+14 is very impressive on turnovers!
Boyle Co fans we are taking a fan bus from the High school. $25 per person and Tony and Tracey Wilson are handling it. Make reservations only a few seats left! Go Rebels. Who ever posted that Allen Co will bring more fans that will be the first. No one out does Boyle fans, but maybe Bell! We will all be there and it should be a really great game. Boyle by 21. :Cheerlead
ACS is the real deal. This will a game. I will not try to compare heart because I don't know the Boyle players but I do know ACS. They are playing for their team, the town, and the county. They are playing for a place in the history books of Allen County. They will lay it all on the field and not leave one drop in the tank. If Boyle does win they will have beaten a team that has been preparing for this game since they were in the 8th grade. All the camps, practices, and games for the past 4 years have been leading up to this one moment in time. They are prepared and focused. They understand that Boyle is favored to win. They have heard all season that their schedule is soft. They have heard all season about how good Bell and Boyle are. It doesn't matter to them at this point. They will play all 48 minutes the best way they can.

I agree but was wondering this year as I did last year. How many kids play football at the high school level in Ky. And how many will play for a championship in 2010. Those who make it to the championship are truly blessed and are among a select few. Consider the ones who play from 2nd grade to their Senior year and barely make the playoffs much less play for a championship. As the Boyle Coaching staff says, whats better than 1 ring you guessed it 2 rings. Defend The Pride and REMEMBER JABEZ!!
I just got thru watching ACS,Lone oak game.ive never seen a team run out of the i formation so much.at least not since the 1970s.either ACS front line is great or Lone oaks D line is not very good.ACS dosent appear to have a kicking game at all.its hard to tell how good they are because they run out of the i on almost every play.i dont think they will be hard to prepare for.they appear to have good size, but its hard to tell the video was not very good.if they run the ball out of the i formation that much against Boyle i think it will be a long night for ACS come friday.

As I've said before, Boyle County is neck and neck with Trinity as the best team in the state in all classes. I don't know anybody that has played a tougher schedule than the Rebels. I wish they still had 4 classes and then have a playoff to determin the champion.
