Wet field or not PCC would have still lost this game. Perry's QB was geting hit on almost every snap. They just could not handle the pressure Rock brought to the table. you cant really blame that on a wet field. Rock had no problem passing the ball. :biggrin:



The field was not in really bad shape. just some spots in the middle. outside the hashes the field was in good shape.

I refuse to comment on what affect the field had on the game.

It is a factor that I would have imagined we planned for and we lost the game.

And as to the bolded.....I haven't eluded to anything other than that in the entirety of the thread. But thanks for letting me know.

A 3 TD win is a 3 TD win. But anyone that watched this game knows Rock gave Perry some chances in this one and they simply couldn't capitalize.

Rock had a busted coverage on Perry's first 1st play that had everyone in the stadium holding their breath.
Rock threw an INT on 2nd and goal at the end of the half that was one good step away from a pick 6.
And thank your last 2 TD drives to Personal Fouls that extended the drives.

But I'm not here to reminisce on what could've been.
I'll eat all the crow I can feast on about us losing this game.
But when you try to hand me some because you think that Rock dominated Perry and if they played 10 times Rock would win all 10 I'll have nothing to do with it.

Perry could've won this game with the field in the exact same conditions but they didn't. They lost it and there are countless things for them to learn from this one and they have an extra week to learn them before Whitley County comes to town.

You losers haven't seen the last of the Commodores sticking it to some teams this year.

I'm not rubbing anything in here, just posting why I think Haddix gambled on those fourth downs. He wasn't having much luck with the punting. His punter is a quick kick soccer style punter and I heard that Rockcastle planned to try and take advantage of it before the game. If a punter advances forward like they do when they are fake punting, as a soccer style kicker does naturally, then an opposing team is allowed to tackle them and there really is no roughing the kicker rule involved. I think that some investment in time with a conventional style punter would be worthwhile for PCC. It cost them dearly in the first half of the game.
