Mountain top 10
#31
^
I think it will all depend on how those few guys do, but theres no denying that Perry lost there stars last year.
Although, i think the three you mentioned will be very good.

Should be a very competetive district this year.

Because they should be there.
Dontbe a hater and look on the other side of the fence. You cant always discredit a team just because you dont like them.
Heck, there are many teams i cant stand, but im not going to make a phony list. If anything, IMO, Corbin shouldnt be in the top 10 unless they start the season out 4-0. Ill agree that Whitley may be a little high on the list, but in all honesty man, they return every skill position they had, plus the fact that those players will be much better this year. If they can come up with a decent offensive line and find a way to get a couple of guys on defense to step up so they dont have to play those skill players both ways, they could be very dangerous in that region.
In dealing with Corbin, they could go anywhere from 7-3 to 3-7. I like to support all area teams and would love tosee Corbin regain some of there success, however, IMHO, and this is not a knock, I think corbin will go 5-5, or 6-4 at best and win a playoff game. In reality i see a 6-6 year for Corbin. Now, if they can keep those young guys who were dominating in middle school a few years ago from quitting, they have a chance at getting back to Bell's level on a yearly basis.

Good luck this season.

Cellking Wrote:Somerset playes 5 of these Schools this year. Should be a great Season for Jumper Fans.
Somerset plays four of them and after playing all four on the road last year, get all four at the Briar Patch this year. Also have Lexington Christian and Southwestern at home this year and travel to Glasgow, Danville, Middlesboro and one of the Jess Co. schools. Great schedule this year.

For a non hater, you sure do use the word "u" a lot.
Your forgetting that im not a player coach or parent, just a simple fan.
IMO, playing those teams do get you better. Whitley was to young last year to do anything against competetion in the playoffs, and just wasnt ready for that. This year im a firm believer that they can hold the own against those teams even though they may not win the games. Most teams sign two year contract for a home and away series against another team. While knowing it woulnt have done us any good playing those teams last year, it definitely will this year.
Not everybody strives for a 10-0 record against a weak schedule just to get beat in the playoffs. If Corbin were to beef up there schedule, i think youd be surprised at how far that went, and what the boys will remember the next year and how they dont want that to happen again.

Somerset's schedule should help them out a lot come postseason time.

I think Harlan Ind. Has the potential and leadership to very well be considered for the pre-season mountain top 10, but not be placed there so fast. I believe the dragons have to prove this through the first four weeks of the season, if they go 4-0 then they deserve to break the topten

Williamsburg must really be good if they are better than Rockcastle or Perry Central or Prestonsburg for that matter. And even with Whitley, wow!

Better get ready Hoopstown. The Dragons are bigger and stronger and completely healthy and coming to town seeking revenge in week 1.
