Ironton (OH) @ Johnson Central 9/28
#1
Thoughts and predictions.
#2
Tigers by 2 td's
#3
Tigers by 17,maybe Belfry can get them back on the schedule as well.
#4
The tigers sweep the ky schedule.
Ashland, Russell and JC.
#5
Would love to see JC pull out the W. However, it will not be an easy task. I gotta go with Ironton in this one.
#6
Saw the Ironton-Ashland game in person and on video. Listening to all the talk about Ironton, I feel they are a bit overrated.

With that being said, I'm going with Johnson Central 35-28.

Ironton big.

Say hello and goodbye to Patrick Lewis.
#9
Ironton isn't overrated. You gotta remember Ashland defense Is pretty good. JC will have no answer for Lewis. Though i do hope the eagles pull it out

Ashland breaks a five-game losing streak to Johnson Central, loses a four-year starting quarterback and several other key players, and at least one Tomcat fan seems ready to declare the program a dynasty. Ashland lost by 10 at Ironton, and BadCat makes the Tigers a 3 or 4 touchdown favorite to beat the Golden Eagles on the road? Really?

It could happen - but regardless of the outcome of Friday's game, Coach Hart will still be looking for his first win at Johnson Central when the two teams meet on October 19.

I expect a close game.

And I'd say he will get it.

That kitten defense is better than a year ago.
#15
Is Ironton a pass first or run first style of team?
#16
Run first but they will spread you out and also run some wildcat. They are tough to defend.
#17
I can't wait till this Friday! It should be a packed house on both sides of the field!!!!

WYMT should make this their GOTW !!!!

Do you know what the say about a Ashland Tomcat education???? Try "It's so easy a Cavemen can do it". Confusednicker: Your writing and the poor spelling show that you are a Ashland grad.

Actually it's just typing on this iPhone. A lot of times it's auto correct or I just hit the wrong key since they are so close. Also a pain to keep switching screens for punctuation. But judging by your perfect grammar and mastery of the English language I can obviously tell you graduated from a highly acclaimed high school. How were your four years at Paintsville?

No mystery to beating Ironton. They are very physical, run 90-95% of offensive plays. 85% of those out of straight T formation. Lots of second man through. And some cross buck counter action. They don't turn the ball over, play tuff D, and have solid special teams. Takes a well disciplined clone (physically) to beat them generally. Lewis is very good. Even if you generally shut them down, he can still break enough long runs to beat you.

this is coach vaas's first season coaching the fighting tigers, but they appear to be very solid this year. we have 20 seniors, and i think 38 total on varsity.
we are ranked 4th in the state in division 4
1 being the biggest, 6th the smallest
and are ranked number 1 in our region division 4 region 15.
i'd like to meet some johnson central posters , maybe prior to the game, near a scoreboard , or a goal post. let me know if anyone would be interested.and looking forward to posting here.

is johnson central more passing or run oriented. i'm hearing it will be a very physical game. ironton will flat out hit ya, and i hear the golden eagles will as well.
