Does anyone know if the Bears will start practice on the new field today?

They are there now.

I have heard from a very reliable source that the next possible Head Man at HC will be at the game with his 3 state championship rings. IMO if Larkey wants to stay he should be allowed to stay as long as possible but I am hearing some circumstances are lining up.

heard he has done been there, several times. Giving his in put. But your right William Muney, Larkey should be allowed to stay.

Is what I believe this game will be, Bell is not near as explosive offensively as they were last year with Davenport, Polly and Oslonian. Their offensive line however is really strong maybe stronger than last year, making for a clash between two teams very similar in style. Bell has been great for a long time and Harlan has been very solid under Larkey, the Black Bears have been improving dramatically over the last few weeks with some of their most talented players developing and maturing tremendously to give hope for an exciting next few weeks of football. I am going to pick with my heart, but I believe it could go either way. With both teams having the potential for several home playoff games regardless who wins I dont believe either team will let this game lower their excitement or expectations for a great playoff run..
HC - 22 BC - 20

That is not surprising. I just hope nobody from the HC Admin is behind that.
Should be a hard fought game. I hope both teams come out healthy.

I wouldn't think the HC admin would be behind it.
The game is getting closer. Go Bobcats!!!!!!!!!

It might be me but when I consider a rivalry its geared toward the idea that both teams have beaten one another. For example the big time rivalry a few years ago between Bell and Rock. With that said how can you pick against Bell when they have never been beaten by HC. When you're king of the castle, everyone wants a shot at the throne.

You Bell folks are hilarious. Sounds like somebody just misses having attention. Is this the same "head man" that is supposed to be coaching at Corbin? Harlan County? Letcher County? These rumors are getting so lame. Every year you get on here and talk about how Coach Larkey is leaving. You'll guess right some day, not this time though.

I am not a Bell person. But you will see how much of a rumor it is soon enough.

I love Bell!!!!! I love Harlan Co!!!!! I have said all year that Bell is the best in the mountain until they are dethroned. Here is a good chance to be overthrown. It is going to be hard to beat Harlan Co at home, especially with the low key offense Bell has shown this year. Their Defense is still really good though. I think I have to go with Bell 21-14. If Harlan wins who will be the new king. Belfry has lost twice, Knox Cen beat Harlan Co, and no clear team has established dominance this year. This will be a great game. Good luck to both teams.

He was up until the time that Coach Jewell reprimanded the kid for the pink gloves....NOW I believe he may be at Corbin.

I think Dudley will be at Pikeville until his son graduates then he may call it quits. Or he may return to a Bell County or Harlan County to reclaim the all time wins record, no one knows until the smoke clears. His entire tenure at Bell County he was rumored to be leaving.

That would not surprise me at all either. His name coming up anywhere would not surprise me for that matter, except for Bell.
The word is that Coach Larkey is retiring at season's end? Or at least that is what the Dud camp is saying.

i heard he was trying to sell his rings for money towards his kids college,,,,oh wait, that was bobby knight,,sorry!

Ok....I went to the field today and watched a little bit of practice....I was sitting in the chair back bleachers and stood up...looked around and I was amazed...The home bleachers are absolutely HUGE...from back of the end zone to the other...120 yards of bleachers....I just hope we can fill them...it will be aweful hard to do.

I know this is off topic, but I request that the mods make an exception and allow this to stay.
I'm sure that most of you have heard about Joe Bill. He was such a kind and funny man. I've started a tribute to him in the 'off topic' section of this forum. I thought it would be a nice thing to do to share memores or comments about such a dedicated individual.

It is true Dudley has been to HCHS. I'm wondering if anyone has given thought that he might have been visiting Kids? I know for a fact he extended an invitation to at least 4 kids to visit Pikeville. A man on the recruiting trail doesn't much sound like a guy leaving...just saying...

yeah dudley will be coaching his son at least 2 more years.

I'm one of the biggest Black Bear fans around, but beating Bell does not make a team the King nor dethrone Bell. They have done it regularly for a long time so a team will have to dominate the mountains to earn the King title, they would have to work their way up prince, leader, pride of the mountains, but whatever you call the team that beats Bell someone better figure out because its gonna happen Friday!

Coach Larkey and Staff run a TOP Notch Program and during the few years of existence have far exceeded expectations with three straight District Titles, a Regional Title, and last year lost a heartbreaker Regional Championship in overtime. Every year since '08 this rumor has been started. It is a clear understanding that Harlan County loves the Black Bear Football Program and Coach Larkey and his Staff. This is a rumor and just that. The Black Bears will win this game. Rumors are started by evil people with an agenda. GO BLACK BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!SLAP THEIR HEADS OFF!!!!

Good luck Bell Co. from your Boyle County brethren...

In more serious news, It's a rumor that's been going on for years. I hate it for both schools. Speaking for my self, and I mean no Ill-will what so ever, I don't really care if he goes to Harlan County. I don't really care if he goes to Pineville. I for one got tired of all the back and forth, will he or won't he go. I know he misses Bell County, but I also know he's not eternally tied to Bell County. I hope the guy does what's right for him, and everyone else. I think we have the guy we need at Bell, and I hope Dudley stays at Pikeville. I respect the guy and he's one hell of a coach, but in his position now, he's been great for mountain football in providing scholarships for tons of mountain kids. I hope he does whatever he feels to be best for him and his family. That's all.
