All this does for me is confirm what I previously thought. Belfry is without a doubt top 2-3 in 3A, it's debatable. They played another great game but came up short, I'm sorry to the kids for the heart break I know they're feeling right now. Congrats to Central. Also confirms that, like I previously said, the west alignment is far superior to that of the east alignment in 3A. I remember a guy, Pirate1991, saying no one in the west could beat Bourbon or Breathitt by 3 scores and Belfry was 3 scores better than anyone in the west. Breathitt and Bourbon were frauds from the beginning and didn't play anyone, it showed when they played a someone in Belfry. The east is a cakewalk and will continue to be in my eyes. Congrats to Central on this one, and congrats to Belfry on the continued consistency of the program. Maybe next year.

Central is better than Bell, Belfry or any other school in 3A. This year(along with the other years) show just that again. Central plays a much tougher schedule that gets them ready for the playoffs. The coaching staff at Central is far above the coaching staffs at all the other 3A schools, Bell for sure included, with the exception of Belfry....I think the coaching staff at Belfry is a close 2nd.
A rivalry does mean that most teams win against the other...not be beaten year in and year out by Central. What we have with Belfry and Bell is this "we almost won." That's not a rivalry.
Step it up a notch with scheduling and the off season preparations and maybe we can one day beat Central.

That was a great game. It's a good thing Central didn't have to go to Magical Log Mountain again. Belfry played a great game. I just can't understand, even if your kicker is a freshman and suspect, why they don't try a field goal on 4th and goal from 17 in OT. You almost assure the other team of a victory when you do that. I wish I could have kept reception on the way back to hear the whole game. I cannot imagine what the fans and esp the parents of the players on these teams felt during and esp after the game. Great Game, I am not trying to take anything away from the champions but you gotta say great game Belfry as well. I hope both of yall were able to stay injury free. Let's make sure we get the facts straight. Belfry had it 3rd down from just inside the 5 in OT. They option to the left and Central does not cover the pitch man. Inexplicably, Belfry doesn't get the pitch to Robinson early enough...He would have walked into the end zone...By the time the ball is pitched it is too late...Belfry out gains rushing and passing... Total plays and TOP big advantages, but doesn't OUTSCORE the Jakets and that's what matters... Heck of a game by both teams.

I just hope these Pirates realize what they have accomplished, I never got a chance to play in a State Championship. There's nothing in my life I would really change, I got a great life and a great family... but I would add just getting to represent my school in the final game. Proud of you guys!!!

Central ran sweep into the twins and wide side of the field probably 30 times and just tried to out athlete belfry on the edges. Defensively central was tough but with all those athletes they should be hammering people, yet they haven't in the Wayne and now belfry game. Haywood and company are the best staff in 3a by far, and they've been the best for a long long time. Belfry was the better team, grats from Somerset on making it, wish the outcome could have been different for y'all. Ty scroggins may have 4 titles over there but he certainly couldn't coach a team with average talent in the mountains.

The idiotic statement i was referring to was you saying that Belfry would own Bell......How do you know that? Did they play? NO. The only way they could own Bell or Bell own Belfry is they ACTUALLY play a game. Its an idiotic statement to say that any team would own another without them actually playing. Its like trying to figure out which UK basketball team was better, 96 or last year....who knows? Yes Centrals coaching staff is far above everyone in 3A.......here's the proof......Go to Louisville Central High School......Look in the trophy case......See all those trophy's of this year and past years 3A State Championships? I enjoy giving belfry fans hell, but with that being said you all have a ton to be proud of. You don't get to three title games in a row without being legit. Doesn't look like belfry will be going downhill anytime soon, so I expect them to break through the brick wall given their high level of dedication to being a superior state program. Heck of a season, and congratulations to central for once again being the cream of the crop in 3A. Central is a proven power.
