Middlesboro@Bell County 9 /13
#1
Who wins and Why?
#2
9/13/13
#3
I like the sound of a yellowjacket in this one my 2a sleeper team :truestory:
#4
Close as it has been in a long time. Bell by 1. Wouldn't be surprised if it went the other way.
#5
This will be a great game, IMO. I'm gonna agree with 64SUR and choose the Jackets by 1!!
#6
If Middlesboro is going to break the streak, it's going to be here. If Middlesboro has a good, strong week of practice, and comes out guns blazing I think they surprise the bobcats.
#7
Okay guys.
Predictions?
My prediction is Bell 35 - Middlesboro 21
Rooting for a jackets upset but I don't see it happening.

Bell in a tight one. Middlesboro has closed the gap.
#12
Good luck to both but I just don't see the Boro beating Bell. Just my opinion though.
#13
I think I have already said this on another thread but I like the sound of a yelowjacket buzz middlesboro 20 bell 14 :insane:
#14
I have heard alot of chatter about this game. Maybe I am missing something but doesn't Bell Co. dominate this series? I looked at the scores from both teams first few games and even if bell is down what win on middlesboro's schedule would make them confident that they can beat anybody much less someone that has dominated them for years?
#15
I can't believe this thread has been that quiet. I don't think that the Jackets can beat Bell, I thought that they would have beat Pineville a lot worse than they did on Friday. So I don't see anyway that they can beat the Bobcats. their schedule hasn't prepared them for Bell at all.

Bell County 28
Middlesboro 14
#16
then why is it quiet bizzzz yellowjacket man i love that sound.:truestory:
#17
I think it is quiet because most don't know what to expect. Well here it is Bobcats continue to win. 28-20
#18
This game is gonna be big for both schools and I believe it's gonna be closer than in recent years. Both teams are young and this will be a good match up for at least the next few years. Both teams are good at the skill positions Offensively. Bell has a slight edge Defensively Predictions ???????
#19
Middlesboro has looked great this year, but has played weaker teams. There hasn't really been a competitive game in this series that I remember since the 98 game.
#20
Middlesboro has gotten better each year. I just don't know if they can overcome Log Mountain, this year. Best of luck to both teams.
#21
Could be close for a half. Middlesboro soft schedule will show up in 2nd half.
Bell 34 Middlesboro 12
50-6 last year, maybe Middlesboro has improved, but not 44 points!
#22
^
the problem with this is Bell lost 16 seniors and middlesboro has basically the same team so last years score will not effect this years game. Middlesboro has gained some ground but I still think Bell is the better team ....Home field advantage and physical play will be the difference

I agree with everything else you've said

Has anyone heard if Dillion Cox is gonna play ?
#23
Jackets win in overtime they go for two and make it!!
#24
Bell all the way

Well its likely that you know nothing of this series of its history so I will educate you about it.

Its like this up until 1986-87 somewhere in there Bell County was a class A school that existed down on hwy 119 between Harlan and Pineville. When Bell was at this location Pineville and Middlesboro both would destroy Bell yearly. Middlesboro actually beat Bell County 34 years in a row, and actually to be accurate 41 of 42 years at one point. Middlesboro was king of the county.

Then around 86-87 Bell County moved to Log Mountain and began recruiting the counties best players and also players from local towns across the Va and Tn borders which are very close. Did I mention they RECRUITED these kids. I know for a fact they did cause I was very good friends with alot of kids that were loyal to Middlesboro, Pineville, and Tennessee teams and then all the sudden they are at Bell County. Fishy but anyway thats when Bell started dominating Middlesboro and I believe Middlesboro has beaten Bell maybe 3 times since Bell moved to Log Mountain.

As far as a team believing they can beat a team that has dominated them over the years its real simple, you approach every game to win it. Should Middlesboro players just tell one another, "well we have played a weak schedule so far and Bell has beaten us alot lately so lets just forget it".

People like you make me wanna pull my hair out, you talk but you dont listen to yourself, and it makes you sound ignorant.

Middlesboro better play better this week than against Pineville. If they do they will Beat Bell by a td or so. I actually think this game could be fairly high scoring, both in the 30s. I have noticed on this board since Bell is kinda mortal this year their fans are in hiding. Fairweather bandwagoners I guess.

Bell by two touchdowns.

I will agree about there fans being in hiding a little bit, I can remember when you could take a South Laurel North Laurel thread and by day two it was a Bell thread.it was a little annoying at times but that was what I liked about the site you could say what you wanted. Now that they are a few bad mouthing Bell there numbers seem to be down a lot. But back to recruiting if you will hire a good coach and support him people will come you do not have to recruit them people like being associated with winners. The people losing kids want to believe its recruiting but mostly it is people wanting to play for a winner. And do you believe when Middlesboro won all those years in a row they did not have any county kids.

Last I heard he was coming back the week after the Middlesboro game. However, a man that hasn't been in pads for a year wont be to game speed hardly at all. Won't be much of a factor if you ask me.

Believe it or not I think Middlesboro wins this game because they are just stronger up front. Bell has been run on up the middle almost every game. This is where Middlesboro will get them.

Middlesboro in a close game.

I have heard alot of chatter this week at work about this game. Can someone fill me in on this game?

Yes I know that Bell is supposed to be young this year and probably not the same team as last. Even considering that, I don't understand what middlesboro has done and who they have beaten to make them confident that they would beat someone who has embarressed them for years. They would have probably had a tougher schedule if they played intramural the first few weeks.
#30
That is where I disagree. Confidence by this team was big. Now they need to start their test before District. Bell, Pikeville and Union Va. Then comes the only thing that matters, Danville , Somerset and LCA.

I know this is a rivalry game, but means nothing in the grand picture. Playoff picture is most important.
