Very hard game to call. Whitley has struggled and has regressed as the season has went along. PCC has improved. Speed has killed Whitley this year. i don't know if PCC has the skill people to take advantage of Whitley's weaknesses.

Colonels will continue their losing season in my opinion.

PCC has gotten better as the year has progress and I eager to see who starts at QB because I hear the napier kid is back..

Whitley. 27. Perry. 20

I've seen both teams play and neither is very good this year. Whitley is getting a little better since they got mills back. Just don't think it will be enough though. Perry county wins a close one 27-21

The Commodores start off district play with a win. Perry seems to be getting better with each passing week. With Harlan County being vulnurable this year, Perry Central has a chance to take home the district title. Good luck to Coach Haddix and the Commodores on the remainder of the season.

I'd like to see Perry win but beating Harlan County will take a perfect game from Perry. Backs are just so big and strong for Harlan County. Perry isnt exactly a real physical team since Matt Robinson graduated. I do think Perry has improved leaps and bounds since Haddix has been there though. Beating Whitley and LCC will be very tough to. LCC hasnt exactly had a break out game and Whitley is due for a good game. Whitleys running game may pose problems for the Dores.

What has happened to Whitley County? I thought they where young last year and had a good team.

They lost there entire offensive and defensive backfield at one point this season.
There starting to get healthy again, but even though we were young last year, were still young ths year. This team is loaded down with Frosh and sophomores.
Whitleys sophomore class will be one of the best to come threw if they all stick together.

I dont know much about Whitley but their always hard hitting and play hard, for Perry to win the district Harlan County will have to have a total meltdown and Perry will have to go to Letcher County first were they always have trouble, Now Im going to say Perry wins friday 34-28. I would not play Napier after the last 2 weeks with Pray playing well at QB, Napier may not be 100% and I would not take a chance on getting him hurt right now and his year is over.

This game is essentially Irrelevant!

I said PCC has a chance at winning the district, not that they were going to win it. Personally not taking anything away from Harlan County, but they are very overrated in my opinion. The talent is there, but there isn't any team chemistry, and it seems like the kids aren't playing hard for their coach. This was observed during the Johnson Central game. I have a lot of respect for the black bear program, but I am just calling it as I see it. Good luck to both programs!!!!

Both teams have struggled but I'm gonna go with pcc having the edge

I have to disagree it has a lot of meaning in district seating. This is the time in the season that every game counts. If nothing's else it counts for pride.

I agree that HC may be overrated compared to what people that they were capable of, but lets be honest, even if there "overrated" there still 30 points better then every team in this district.

I'm pretty sure you said earlier they were going to be competitive this year and be very good next year.
You didn't answer my earlier question about Harlan County. You are off the bandwagon now and have Pulaski as the regional favorite?

I'll take Whitley 34-22

We WOULD have been competetive this year if not for all the injuries, and I truly believe that. When you lose Mills, Hooper, and 3 others within the first two weeks of play, what do you expect?
I think with a 100% healthy Whitley team, there a lock for the 2 seed in the district, and would have had wins over Clay, Knox, and Bell and would be sitting at 3-3 right now.
And i still believe Whitley will be the favorite next year. Many will disagree, but I know how much this team brings back, and how little they lose. Whether or not the same coaching staff is in place could jumble that up, but I still think WC will be a favorite over HC next year with PCC and LCC gaining little ground.
As for Pulaski, how can i not have them as favorites? Harlan County has done nothing to show consistency within there team. I know theyve lost to good teams, but i think you and I both though they would have won both games. Theres more wrong with HC than just the game and I think that will be a problem down the road. Couple that with the fact that PC (my pick as regional runner up in the preseason) has done nothing to dissapoint and have exceeded my expectations. People laughed when i said they'd blow out Somerset, and theyve done a lot more than that.
Right now I give the edge to PC, with Harlan County and Madison Southern in a virtual tie for second. You'll be surprised at how much MS has progressed and even though i dont like saying this in football, Harris is a game changer. Nobody will stop him, you can only hope to contain him. I think North is in the 4th spot region wise, and the rest are pretty balanced out.
We'll see how things play out.

Dont kow that answer, but this class will not finish without one, nor will the next two. Last year they were 7-5.

Whitley will get their first win. I believe they will be too physical for PCC and come out on top by the score of 35 - 21.
10-09-2013, 09:20 AM
How many years in a row is Whitley going to be young? Seems like they should have grown men by now.
10-09-2013, 09:22 AM
As for losing the entire backfield that's not true they lost the Mills kid and the Hooper kid but still had the other half bak and the Ysidro kid.
