Hey slapnuts, who's to say you and tomcatfan722000 are not one of the same? Your user name is sooo similar to his, just like you all called me out and accused me of being the other guy ( forgot his name ) HUH tough guy?? :thanks:

Not sure of the forecast in Ashland, but it rained yesterday and it was raining this morning in Johnsonville... Confusedtrom:

I just hope Ashland's field drains good and there is no more rain from now til game time next Friday. I'd really hate to see a "swimming meet" rather than a football game happen. Confusednicker:

No disrespect to either team, but after watching Ashland play NCC, if JC wants any chance to stay in a game against Highlands this year, they will need to put a running clock on Ashland.

Ok my bad. So it sounds like you have 17 kids that should be in 8th grade instead of 7th. But that makes my point even more clear. By the time these kids become 19 there senior year, they are leaps ahead of a normal 16 or 17 yr. old. I have coached for many years, and trust me, when I have had 1 or 2 hold backs it makes a huge difference. You can't compare the maturity of a young 17 yr. old to an older 19 yr. old. And yes JC has a lot of hold backs. Everyone in eastern ky knows this. All I am saying is that when the new KHSAA rule goes into effect, the coach will have to become an activist in getting parents to hold their kid back at the 5th grade level. Hey if that's what your all about is holding kids back so you can win a few football games then go for it. And yes I KNOW IT'S LEGAL as long as the kid does not turn 19 by Aug. 1st. But when you are known across the state to actively hold back literally dozens of kids for the sole purpose of winning football. Well I would have to say your a very short sighted person. Unless of course it truly takes 13 yrs. for your kid to get a good education down there. LOL

I will however agree that if you have a young kid that is going to only be say 13 as a freshman. And that kid would be in line to grad. at a young 17yr. old. Then maybe I can see the case for that. But DOZENS of kids???? Year in and year out???? I cannot see the logic here.

My prior comments were intended for Thomcat on his previous post. And thank you for calling me a genius. I'll take that bit of sarcasm as a well intended compliment. LOL

FBfan4life......LOL No prob. brother. Sorry my screen name is close to yours. I don't get on here that often. Just typed out something quick to use as a screen name. Didn't know that people got that bent out of shape if names were similar to each other. LOL
Hey pulp, I see your logged on too. Just look and pls be my witness on this one. I'm logged on along with fb_fan. So how can we be the same?
Harry Rex Vonner Wrote:Boy, old Harry got the juices flowing in a few of you.

First, let me say that the question about JC beating CovCath away from Paintsville was obviously a trick question. Fort Thomas always wins its district with CovCath second. Therefore, the number two team always goes on the road. With the way the brackets are set up, I doubt that JC, or Ashland for that matter, have played CovCath at Covington in the playoffs.

On the other hand, it is possible that Fort Thomas has played one of these two on the road for the regional championship. That could happen if Fort Thomas is playing against one of them who was also a district champion. And, of course, Fort Thomas wins.

As for the meth lab remark, I actually thought it was pretty much on target so no explanation is needed.

My Question Two was apparently misinterpreted by Bob Seger. I was actually asking if Ashland had ever beaten CovCath in the playoffs at any location other than Putnam Stadium. I should have been clearer and I doubt it has ever happened.

Johnson Central has developed a good football program. I usually root for them. I will certainly root for them a week from Friday. However, if JC fans really want others to pay much attention to them they need to win a region and move on. As for Ashland, they are still wrapped in their long ago past.

I was unaware that, in order to be knowledgeable and credible, one must praise, but not be a realist, in regard to JC and/or Ashland. I missed that rule of life somewhere along the way. I wish no harm to either of them. However, I don't believe they are on a par with CovCath in most years and certainly no where near Fort Thomas. But, in reality, only Trinity sits on the top shelf with the Bluebirds.

And, in answer to FBfan4life, I don't think the fans of these two teams can be stirred up too much more. In the end, this is, most likely, the "championship final" for both of them.
U need to stay on your trinity topic your one to talk ho ever paid for this group of kids didn't get there money's worth . Scott county will win 6 a this year . No body cares about Trinity ever kid they get is brought in from another state . U all done a bad job this year picking your team . Better start recruiting Florida or Georgia those Texas boys can't win ::

Just saying..... somebody could be on a laptop and a smartphone at the same time.

2 different devices logged on to the same site at the same time using different usernames. It's possible.
Bob Seger Wrote:Somewhere along the way Coach Matney must have reamed him and his team a gooden....

And you are right Diogenes, a kid is either legal to play or he is not legal to play, and I agree, this is one of the sorriest and dumbest excuses of sour grapes that I have ever seen posted on this board......

I guess old sore loser here is not smart enough to figure out that all a parent has to do is not start there kid in school the very first year they are eligible to enroll in kindergarten to avoid the "holdback" label he wants to apply...

Anyways by the time all these kids are juniors and seniors every thing has leveled out as far as physical maturity......It's in middle school that you can see a difference, as a upperclassman in high school,it's negligible.

Well Bob, I'm not sure how many years you have coached football, but evidently you don't know what your talking about. If you say a 17 yr. old is as physically mature as a 13 yr. player or 19 yr. old. Especially when it is um......oh lets say more than 6 on the same team, you are crazy. I will agree however that it makes a HUGE difference in middle school. That is why you see JC always win at the middle school level. 8th graders that should be 9th, and 7th graders that should be 8th. Heck yeah you should win when you have that type so system going. And yes I realize the ruling on eligibility. I have read them throughout the years prob. much more than you. Simply stating a fact of matter when the new rule goes into place with KHSAA. And yes I realize that a kid would just as easy be held back in kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd,3rd,4th and oh my even 5th grade. LOL I am quite sure you all down there have already figured that one out. Unless of course it truly takes 13 yrs. to get an education down there. LOL

You killing brother.
FBfan4life might as well give it up with that kid. He can't even complete a sentence without sounding like an uneducated inbred. Hey he might be one of those that needed to be held back so that he can get a proper education. LOL
