First of all I want to say that the top game of last week lived up to the billing. I hope that this weeks top game is as good. There were several undercards that were really good games of my last week thread as well. I really think this week could be one of the best of the year though. So without further ado, here is the top ten of this week.
1) #2 Russellville 8-0 @ #1 Mayfield 8-0
Let there be no doubt, I and many others have been looking forward to this game from the time that it was put in ink. We have the top 2 teams in 1a, both of which are still perfect on the season, playing in the classic War Memorial stadium. We have two teams that have a lot of experience at winning state titles playing for the district championship and the right to host all playoff games. Russellville feels this is the year they have been waiting on for the past 3 years now. They come in with a Lit rating of 100.5. Mayfield is also a senior dominated bunch and feels pretty good about themselves. The Cards are on a 22 game winning streak and I cannot even recall the last time they lost at home. They come in with a Lit rating of 116.5. The two teams have 3 common opponents thus far this season. Russellville beat Fort Campbell at home 42-35. Mayfield beat Fort Campbell on the road the week before Russellville did 37-21. Russellville beat Fulton City on the road 47-0. Mayfield beat Fulton City at home 63-0. Russellville beat Fulton Co at home 53-6. Mayfield beat Fulton Co on the road 63-0. This should be a great game and should affect the KHSAA rankings from 1-10.
2) #7 Raceland @ #8 Paintsville
The Rams should be coming into this one on a high and could be a problem if they miss this sandwich game. The Rams can wrap up the district and homefield advantage here. The Rams come in at 6-2 and have a Lit rating of 84.7. Paintsville has something to prove after getting handled by the Fairview Eagles recently. They can prove something by beating the team that beat them in this one. Paintsville also comes in at 6-2 with a Lit rating of 69.3. The stadium should be rockin for this one.
3) #12 Pineville @ #6 Hazard
This one is also for #1 in the district. Pineville should rise this week in the polls after a convincing win. Pineville has everything laying right there in front of them in this one. Pineville comes into this one at 6-2 with a Lit rating of 54.7. Hazard is looking to establish dominance in the east once again. This game would go a long way in that quest. Hazard also comes in at 6-2 with a Lit rating of 84.6. This should be a good one on the carpet.
4) #11 Bethlehem @ #4 Holy Cross
This is a great undercard as well. Holy Cross is trying to reestablish themselves in their district and Bethlehem is trying to say, "Not so fast". Bethlehem is in a similar position of trying to win the district and homefield. Bethlehem comes in at 7-1 with a Lit rating of 72.6. Holy Cross comes in with a record of 5-3 and a Lit rating of 78.8. This should be a great game in it's own right.
5) #9 Frankfort @ Eminence
Frankfort comes into this one again attempting to establish their dominance in the district. Frankfort has a record of 6-2 and a Lit rating of 95.4. Eminence comes in with a record of 5-3 and a Lit rating of 41.9. Eminence could earn a lot of respect here in this one. This too should be a great game.
6) Fulton Co @ Fulton City
This is a game of 2 very evenly matched teams, who should have earned some respect this year. The two teams have 17-18 players each. This is probably two of the smallest school teams in all of Kentucky. These two go out each and every week and play the best they can and after getting beat in most occasions, come right back to practice the next week. This is a chance for Fulton Co to get there first win of the season. It is about more than that though. This is about the county rivalry. Fulton Co comes in at 0-6 with a Lit rating of 50.4. Fulton City comes in at 1-7 with a Lit rating of 37.7. Having seen these two teams in person, I am going to go with Fulton Co being slightly better.
7) Bellevue @ Dayton
This game represents a chance for Bellevue to take the #2 spot in their district. Bellevue comes in at 4-5 with a Lit rating of 82.8. Dayton comes in with a record of 2-6 and a Lit rating of 18.6.
8) Phelps @ South Floyd
Again we have a game with two teams that would like to taste the sweetness of another victory. These two teams are very similar as well. Phelps comes into this one at 1-7 with a Lit rating of 24.0. South Floyd comes in with a record of 2-6 and a Lit rating of 35.7. These two teams and fan bases should be very excited for this one as well.
9) Caverna @ Ky Country Day
Caverna would love to hang one on Caverna after the past few years. KCD would love to get back in the win column and avoid loosing all respect in their district. The two have similar records and this should be a good one. Caverna comes in at 2-6 with a Lit rating of 23.6. KCD comes in with a record of 3-5 and a Lit rating of 59.6. This should be a good one to watch.
10) #10 Williamsburg @ Lynn Camp
Yes I am somewhat scraping the barrel at this point. This is the next closest remaining contest this week though. Williamsburg comes in at 5-2 with a Lit rating of 92.4. Lynn Camp comes in at 3-5 with a Lit rating of 35.4.
Well there you go, It is getting to the point where we are just about done with top ten in 1a as the field will start getting limited soon. I think these last two weeks will be great ones though.

Great job!

Thank you sir. I can't wait for Friday.
10-19-2013, 01:34 PM
Myson are you going to keep updates on here for us?
10-19-2013, 01:39 PM
I will try. I find it hard to update and watch the game. You can download the wymc app on your phone and listen to it though.

Most of the games are going to prove who's the top dog in their district. Well done with the comparisons! Russellville and Mayfield is going to be an interesting game Friday night. Also the Raceland vs. Paintsville game will seem interesting despite the Tigers losing @Fairview 44-7 don't count them kids out, they played excellent for all their home games this season and defeating 3A Morgan County and keeping the Pikeville game close until their most important Defensive Player got injured. Raceland shows what they got when they beat Fairview and holding them to only 14 points, Fairview couldn't get anything going. I'm really interested in these games and most definitely the Pineville vs Hazard, just a great Friday night coming up! Thank you for posting this, great job!

I may have to do so.. Im going to try to go to the hazard game but it may too cold for my son so I may just listen on the radio.
10-19-2013, 01:51 PM
I was listening to Raceland and Fairview last night while watching my son as well. I am a junkie I guess.
10-19-2013, 02:12 PM
Question. How did Raceland go from a Lithouse ranking of 90.3 last week to a 84.7 this week? Just curious.
10-19-2013, 03:05 PM
I would say some of the teams they have played must have dropped some games. That and when we start into our 1a dist games the level of comp drops thereby dropping your power rating.
10-19-2013, 03:38 PM
Gotcha. Was just curious. Keep up the good work 55
10-19-2013, 06:03 PM
That being said, I think the Rams Lit rating will rise again now. That is because they beat a team with a higher rating this week and did so soundly.
10-20-2013, 09:59 AM
Yes we made it back in mysonis55 1A top 10 game of the week.

By the skin of your teeth there 64. Really that game should not be that close, but this week in 1a will see a lot of your regular blow outs.
10-21-2013, 05:14 PM
It is only Monday and I can't wait for this Friday.
10-21-2013, 05:22 PM

Williamsburg is the team in the east sleeping on the job no way.I Kant wait to see you eat crow when we beat Hazard.:ChairHit:

I haven't had to eat crow since Dec of 2011. I forgot what it tastes like.

Cards will take their next step by escaping with the win over Rvllle and get that home field throughtout the playoffs
10-21-2013, 08:24 PM
You are selling us short by saying we will escape Cardinal. We win by 10-14 points. I am erroring on the low side. I have had several fball followers that seem to think 21-28 points. I know we have had a month off from football, but they have had 3 weeks off as well.
10-21-2013, 09:02 PM
Isn't it Friday yet?
10-22-2013, 07:48 PM
I've been looking at this a little closer since I put this out. I think Bethlehem could be a problem for Holy Cross.

(This post was last modified: 10-22-2013, 09:24 PM by Scotty_Bronson.)
Im ready to see if Rville is as good as i think they r, or if they have draped the wool over my eyes. I am also ready to see how Raceland comes out at Paintsville. They SHOULD be able to put a running clock on them. Last week was the most alive I have ever seen this bunc of jrs and srs. Will they be hungover and get caught dozing? Or will they come out amped up? Imo, this team found a new physicality and a new spark so to speak. I think Carson Christian added another strong runner between the tackles. Having Messer and Beech in the backfield as speed/shifty backs, Christian and Snyder as the hard nosed runners, is a tough match up for any team. Especially wit Messer's ability to throw and still have Vance and Dixon outside, not to mention Beech's ability to play WR. Also, imo I would leave Elkins out there with Messer in the game. Too good of an athelete to have off the field offensively. Raceland keeps comingup with weapons to add to the mix and defensively they have developed a few new schemes that hae proved affective.
Does anyone know what style offense Paintsville is running under the new HC?

I am hopeful that by the end of the 3rd quarter Russellville will be wishing they were in the east side.
10-22-2013, 09:54 PM
Love the fact that These two can possible play again..as well as Raceland and Fairview.
10-23-2013, 08:15 AM
I am fairly certain that we will play again. I thought that last year and then Russellville went to Lou and lost fairly big to KCD. That dist appears to be really down this year though. Bethlehem is 7-1 but they haven't played anybody.
10-23-2013, 08:19 AM
I think its pretty cool that two region titles could come down to district title rematches. With the feeder systems are at those 4 schools it could be that way for awhile.
10-23-2013, 08:33 AM
It will depend on the realignments upcoming and as always coaching. But this is just speculation. You never know for sure what could happen in the playoffs.
10-23-2013, 10:50 AM
Um hello, Harlan vs Jenkins?
