Breaking News!!!
I wonder if Russellpride will be at the board meeting tonight? I'm gonna stop at Clark's Pump n Shop to get some popcorn and soda on my way into town.
From Aaron Snyder

@DindependentQB: At Fairview school board meeting, school superintendent Bill Musick said "I have not asked for resignations."
^^^^^Well that makes zero sense! Im so confused!
When the person that started this mess is running the board meeting do you really expect anything to happen?Iam telling you guys time will pass all of this will die down and nothing will happen.
Whose worse ncaa or khsaa?

Plus the School Board Chair is one of the assistant football coaches.
Nate will be there next year. This will keep going on.If I had to guess I would say Gary got caught in something all together different.Probley like some money missing, that one seems to follow him where ever he goes.

That is absolutely the most ridiculous statement I have ever seen on BGR. You should not guess before you smear anyone's reputation.
Nate has already resigned, it happens at the end of the season, two kids have transferred back to Spring Valley, one of which was receiving a fair share of the carries out of the backfield. There are rumors of other kids, not from Westwood, who are sitting on the fence, because they don't know what next season brings.

I think Fairview has sent the KHSAA it's list of self imposed sanctions and is awaiting the decision.
Rumors from a Dr in Ramland say Kurtlen Brown enrolled into Spring Valley today . Well i can tell you for certain Kurtlen was at school in FHS all day today , & was at football practice as well . Seen him with my own eyes , & spoke with his mother today also . So for now that rumors is false . I know this rumor was started by Raceland's team Dr when he said he got a text from a coach from Spring Valley , but as of right now i know this one is a false rumor
So what of the resignations? Are those rumors as well?

The board voted to accept Gary's resignation , but wouldnt confirm or deny Nate's , however Nate's father was there & read a statement that confirmed Nate's resignation at the end of the season
Talon I find it hard to believe that all of this is because of one ineligible kid, what is going on over there? Why would Nate feel he should resign if he feels he's done nothing wrong? Why would the board accept Gary's and not Nates?

Few answers about Fairview resignations

By MIKE JAMES
The Independent

WESTWOOD — A short Fairview school board meeting Monday resulted in few answers and one glaring question: Why did the high school principal and the head football coach resign suddenly if no one asked them to do so?

Superintendent Bill Musick denied calling on Fairview High principal and athletic director Garry McPeek or football coach Nathan McPeek to step down, and board member Jeff Preston said the board did not do so either.
It was just for show tonight because WSAZ was there. really a lot of misinformation with Musick saying he hadn't asked for resignations, yet confirming they had resigned, and then Coach saying he was asked to resign. Someone isn't exactly telling the truth.

These are million dollar questions i would love to have the answers to myself . Something i agree seems fishy , & so many different rumors / stories flying around who know's what is truth or fiction , but im about over it ! They need to wrap this up bad , or good so we can take our school back !
The fact that you feel you have to take your school back speaks volumes. So is Music retiring at the end of the year as well ? Better get the king pin.

Thats rumor , that i hope is very true! He needs to go!
Another article today in ADI. Still no closer to any answers. This is rediculous.

WESTWOOD — While Fairview football players are admittedly shocked and confused, their mission is still to make Eagle football as relevant in 2013 as it was in 2012.

Logan Thovson, a junior, was one of a handful of current players who attended Monday’s school board meeting in the jam-packed high school library.

Thovson and fellow junior Isaiah King both talked about how this latest deal of adversity has actually allowed the team to grow closer as a group.

“It’s brought our team together, kinda, and now we’re playing with a chip on our shoulder,” said King, who could return from a broken collarbone during the playoffs.

Addressing the situation regarding a Kentucky High School Athletic Association investigation into the football program was not part of the board’s agenda on Monday. The KHSAA is looking into an issue regarding the eligibility of a student-athlete and is expected to penalize the program or agree to a self-imposed penalty soon.

Superintendent Bill Musick did, however, make a few brief comments about football in the first few moments of the 16-minute meeting.

He said since the KHSAA hadn’t yet ruled on its investigation into the school’s football program as of Monday afternoon, he was optimistic about the Eagles avoiding a postseason ban.

“I was hoping they would make a ruling today (Monday),” Musick said. “I think they’re going to allow our children to play in the playoffs.”

Musick said he could not discuss the matter any further until the KHSAA makes a ruling on the subject.

Over the past week, both Fairview’s football coach Nathan McPeek and principal/athletic director Garry McPeek have submitted their resignations. Nathan remains the head coach through the end of the season. Garry is no longer an assistant coach, either. Both still have teaching positions.

Jeff Fletcher is the acting athletic director, according to Musick. Fletcher is a former coach at Greenup County. He has been Fairview’s assistant athletic director for two years.

Nathan McPeek could not comment about his resignation or the specifics of the investigation, but he, like Musick, is staying hopeful about a potential postseason run. The Eagles (8-1) are slated to host Allen Central on Nov. 8. This Friday, they’ll be at James Gamble Montessori, a school in Cincinnati, to end the regular season.

“Hopefully we get good news that we get to play in the playoffs,” McPeek said. “I hope we can finish with something special.”

Thovson and King, like many in the Westwood community, are still searching for answers as to why the coaches resigned and what exactly led to their resignations.

All of that could surface when the KHSAA comes up with its conclusion.

“I think they should let us play in the playoffs,” King said. “The team didn’t do anything (wrong). I think if they do, we’ll make a run.”

McPeek met with players on Friday morning to inform them of his resignation.

“It was sad and touching, just because I love my coach,” King said. “I know how much he does for my team.”

“He’s been my coach for three years, and now going into my senior year, suddenly he’s not,” said Thovson, adding that he came to the board meeting because “I wanted to support him. He’s my coach regardless of what anyone says.”

Fairview cheats and the school board isn't going to do anything about it because Music is the super and the ring leader of the scandal. Point blank.

It started off as a "hammer is coming down on fairview" with much speculation.

Key issues:
A. Fairview supposedly allowed a kid that was repeating a grade to continue to play football.
B. Many believe it is just the tip of the iceberg and recruiting will be investigated as well.

What we know so far:
A. Nate keeps saying things like "the truth will come out" and "they know the truth"(refering to the team), yet filed to resign at the end of the season
B. Principal, and Nate's uncle, Gary McPeak, has resign and is no loger a football coach for Fairview. He and Nate both maintain teaching positions at FHS.
C. Nothing makes any sense. Both McPeaks have either resigned or filed to resign, and all this before Fairview or the KHSAA has made any kind of ruling.
D. Both the super intendent Bill Musick and school board deny any request to the McPeaks resignations.

Imo, none of this will get resolved. As long as FHS is winning, people will continue to "Rally behind their coach". "Inspired and business like playing" against Nicholas Co., imo was nothing more than running into a much lesser opponent. None of this will be resolved by the post season, it probably wont get resolved becore basketball season is over. The same thing will happen, that usually happens. They will play, they will win a few more games, be it one, be it 6 more (would mean winnining the championship) then they will quite possibly strip them of every win. Imo something needs to be done asap. But, it is what it is. Suit up, strap em on, and play who lines up against u.

The KHSAA doesn't work that way. It takes whatever time it needs, usually weeks and months, to gather its information for its findings. If this investigation started fairly recently, it shouldn't conclude with the issuing of a report until 2014. The playoffs will be long over. Mayfield will be Class 1A champions again. Basketball season will be, at least, in the home stretch. KHSAA is not rushed.

In reality, this deliberate action by KHSAA causes a lot of harm because it allows for a lot of rumors, gossip, and innuendo. The longer it goes on, the worse Fairview will appear in the eyes of the public. Who benefits the most from Fairview's purgatory? Its "neighbors". Several schools benefited from Rose Hill's suspension but one benefited far more than the others. In fact, the benefits are just now beginning to subside a little.

Nor should it work that way. It should move as fast as it can, but still be very deliberative and thorough in the process. My guess is that Julian, Darren and Chad are putting in some late nights these days trying to ascertain the facts before the KHSAA issues its findings and sanctions.

Ironically enough one of the major benefactors of Rose Hill's suspension was Fairview. They filled out fraudulent paperwork back then also.
