Well it has arrived. In the last few years, this has become quite the post season rivalry atleast within the region. Two VERY classy football teams will face off in Raceland. Pikeville comes in with an 11-1 record and Raceland weighs in at 10-2.
The Panthers have been explosive all year. Putting up 50+ a few times and eclipsing 70 pts once. Raceland started off the season relying on the big play, but in the last few weeks has really developed the short passing game as well as getting the run game into a clock controlling situation.
Raceland spreads the ball around i the Passing game with Messer, Vance, and Beach, while Beach, Messer, Christian, and Qb Adam Elkins all getting significant carries.
Pikeville relies on Charles and Estep in the passing game(scary combination) and keeps teams honest with hard running Chase Hall going for over 1600 yds rushing.
Defense wins championships.
Both teams have opportunistic defenses. Scoring alot on special teams as well. Field position on kickoffs and punts will be a huge factor. Raceland has faced big and strong olines, like Fairview, Ironton, and Coal Grove. They have also faced fast and great technique and assignment blocking lines in Ashland and Lawrence Co. I think this is where the two teams seperate.
I think Raceland controls the line of scrimmage and time of possession. Make no mistake though, this game could get out of hand for EITHER team quickly. Its time for Raceland to put up or shut up....
My prediction...
Rams get over hurdle #2 of the season.
Raceland 35
Pikeville 24
Maybe 55 can give us some lit numbers as well.

Thanks mods! Where's the talk? Possibly the 2 best traveling fan bases in the east. Also a big factor in this game.

Pikeville wins by 10 at the minimum! At least I hope so anyways ha Good luck to both teams & I hope it's a injury free game.

Whoever comes out of this Region will play for the State Title IMO.

Pikeville has played only teams, with 2 wins, so far in the playoffs. They need to change their names from the Panthers, to the Cupcakes.

Raceland by 20.

Seriously? You do know that the playoff brackets are laid out and set in stone. You don't choose the teams you play.

Obviously. Did Wiiliamsburg play D-1 schools in their first two playoff games?

I'll take the RAMS at home.

This one has all the makings of a classic. These 2 teams and coaching staffs are quite familiar w/ each other considering this is the 5th time in the last 3 seasons they've met. I really don't think either team will surprise the other with what they do. They each have playmakers galore and are both well coached. This game will be decided, as most games are, by turnovers, penalties, and time of possession. Whoever makes the least amount of mistakes and who controls the clock will win this game. As a previous poster stated, special teams will come into play as well. I can't wait...HAIL PIKEVILLE!!!

Rams have the better D. Raceland in a barn burner.

Are you for real? This has to be just about the dumbest thing I've ever seen posted!

I hope Pukeville brains these trolls.

Should be a great game for the fans.
Pikeville has two very good wins. Beating Hazard and Middlesboro.
But in those two games they gave up a combined 96 points. And they
did struggle mightily against Paintsville. Going to be a tough test mentally
for the RAMS. They are going to have to play very disciplined on defense
especially. The RAMS better tackle better then this past Friday.
Of course I'm going to take the RAMS!!
HIGH SCORING. VERY EXCITING. RAMS 42 - PIKEVILLE 35
KEYS: Defense, turnovers and Offensive line play.

I have watched over 20 years worth of Raceland Football and traditionally Raceland has never been able to win the big games. I hope this week changes that trend and we can get past the regional championship hump. I have seen very good teams trip up and fall apart in this game (06 & 08 come to mind) and I hope this team doesn't do the same. Raceland has been playing well since they beat Fairview a few weeks ago and they are going to be tough to beat at home.
If you would have asked me about this game a month ago I would have picked Pikeville because Raceland wasn't very good a month ago and they weren't clicking like they are now. This team also had a level of focus that they did not have earlier in the year and I think that is what makes them dangerous right now. I am going to make a crazy prediction but I see Raceland winning this game by at least two touchdowns.

64, you just don't want the Rams. That is if by some miracle your Jackets win.

After watching Raceland come up short for so many years, I would love to see them get over the hump by winning a regional championship and play for a chance to go to BG.

Russell ran for over 350 yards against Pikeville....If Russell ran for 350 against them, Raceland runs for 11 billion. Seriously though, PVille hasn't stopped anybody all year and Raceland is going to be the best offense they have seen all season. Pikeville has some playmakers but cannot hang with the Rams up front, Racelands line is too big and strong. Beach runs for another 200+, Rams get over the hump, and it's celebration time in Ramland.
Raceland 45
Pikeville 20

64, you want NO part of the Rams. When this team is clicking, they can beat anybody. You ever heard of a little school from OH named Ironton. Well just in case you haven't, they are traditionally one of the best teams in the state of OH for their class, multiple state championships and they would beat anybody on Williamsburg schedule by 30. Rams won 17-0. Nuff said'.

I'm a RAM. But when you start slinging s****. Maybe look in the mirror!!
Williamsburg
Vs Hall 0-10
Vs Harrison Co 3-8
Vs Campbellville 4-8
Vs Lynn Camp 3-8
Vs Jenkins 1-10
Vs Pineville 7-5
Lost to a good Wayne Co by about 40.
Lost to a alright N. Laurel by 2 or 3 scores.
I don't know!!!

Sir, Any team that has made it this far has got to be pretty good. Even W,burg!!
How many wins did Jenkins have? Isn't that one of the teams you played in the playoffs.
That's the way it is. Your first round team is usually a bottom feeder team!
The second round team is a alright team!!
I would say your team is very lucky they haven't played Pikeville. They do have a very good record. Best record team W,burg beat had five losses. And I think the only team with a winning record.
Good luck Friday. I would love the winner of the the Panther/RAMS game play the mighty burg.
