It's that time of the year if you haven't walked outside yet today. From 65 yesterday to a windchill of 25 today.
I'll update forecasts when things are getting interesting...will need your alls help with updates on snow totals, conditions, etc.
Here are a few links to sites I've used over the years:
http://www.intellicast.com/National/Radar/Current.aspx Click on the region for a more detailed radar profile.
http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=j...0R&loop=no
Anyone have a good app for traffic conditions statewide? Please share...
Make it a great day and for obvious starters considering the temps. Don't forget to change your furnace filters from last season if using a furnace. Also, it's best to use GFI outlets for electric space heaters. Plug heater directly into the outlet, not an extension cord, or extended power strip.

Spirit, send Brittany a PM on facebook about that app. She has one that will tell you where the accident is, how quickly the traffic is moving, how many cars involved, and even more information. Amazes me!!!
They have removed the snow predictions for here, but it's still supposed to be dang cold here for a while!

Misty rain mixed with a splattering of wet snow this morning on the way to work....temp at 34 degrees. The damp conditions make it feel much colder, or maybe I'm just getting more sensitive to that the older I get.

Snowing at my Pikeville office right now. I drive around 150 miles a day, everyday, and I SAY LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW! The Range Rover is ready!

Scattered snow flurries and temps in the 20's tonight across the Commonwealth...stay warm folks!

Now we have a Winter Storm Warning in effect for tonight into tomorrow morning. Calling for 2-4" of snow with isolated amounts of 5-6". Nothing like a heavy wet snowfall before Thanksgiving to get your attention.
Expecting 2 hr delays and potential school called off tomorrow...
Going to be an interesting next 24 hrs in NKY. Make it a good Sunday folks!

Ended up with 3-5" of snow in NKY and the first snow day of the school year. Be careful out there, especially if you received freezing rain in Central KY.
The bottom is going to drop out tonight. Calling for lows in the teens. Don't forget to turn off water to outside spickets if you haven't already done so. Make it a good day folks!

Make sure you visit the packers hall of fame, well worth the price for admission. While your there walk over to the stadium view bar and have a cold one great atmosphere before the game. You are going to see that those people take their football as serious as we take our basketball.

Looks like Mother Nature is going to let it rip today and tomorrow and EKY is right in the cross hairs.
Be safe folks and know this storm just might warrant extra bread and milk especially if we lose power.
Here's the latest on the Winter Storm Warning:

Had single digit wind chills yesterday (Sunday). Highs in 20's and 30's all week (Normal this time of year is mid to upper 50's). Calling for up to .20 inch of freezing rain and up to an inch of snow/sleet. I know it's not bad compared to what KY is getting, but we don't have snow removal equipment in Eastern North Carolina.

Well here comes what is being call the biggest snow storm in the last 15 years for Kentucky. All I can say is let it snow! I haven't seen a good snow fall since I moved from Wisconsin back to Ky in 1999. Really miss the white stuff.
Hope everyone drives safe in this stuff. Becareful out there its going to get real nasty latter on today.

Yeah, it's pouring here, too. Believe we were the last county to get it started, but it's making up for lost time!!

Finally stopped snowing in Knox around 11pm. Not sure of the snow totale around here but I'm guessing somewhere around 10 inches or so.
On my way to work tonight I noticed that the state highway dep. Has not done a very good job with plowing 25e between barbourville and corbin. But maybe they can make up for it on the nightshift.
