Would love to see Timmy Dalton from Lawrence County playing in this. The kid can flat out catch a football and run with it. I just don't think he is very well known (for whatever reason) to people except the teams who get to go up against him. The kid has burnt some of the best defensive teams this side of the state the last two years and I would love to see what he could do with a top notch QB who can make all the throws accurately. He is also a very good kick return guy when he has some blocking.

Good looking team.
Curious as to why the dis-connect between NKY Coaches nominating their players vs the remainder of the state?
I can think of at least 5+ players who would be honored to represent KY on this team from the NKY region. Suppose NKY got annexed to Ohio...
nicker:
Good luck to the KY Team against Tenn! Granny, we may have to come down and watch this one with you. I'll let you know by mid week.

From what I understood in the past, the head coach picked out his team. I don't know who the head man is....but they have the final say. The assistant coaches can pick a player or two for themselves and, of course, I'm sure they all get together to pick the majority of the team
Last year, Joe Prince from the Western part of the state was head coach, and there were several from his part of the world playing and it didn't hurt if he saw you at his Hawg Heaven Lineman Camp in aiding a kid's chances of getting to play. The year before that saw Tom Larkey head coaching and there were several he has been associated with over the years doing the assistant coaching and large amount of boys primarily from Eastern Kentucky playing.
I don't know WHO is coaching this year.
This game started out as an Eastern Kentucky versus Eastern Tennesee all-star game and has blossomed into pretty much an all out state wide game. It IS a fun game to attend and amazing to watch how old rivalries between kids from certain teams turns into an "us" (KY) against "them" (TN) game. The kids all come together and all of the rivalries just fade away with only a little ribbing. By the end of the practices, everybody has different rivals stickers on their own helmets. If you are lucky enough to have a kid playing, get them to hit their coaches up for extra helmet stickers to take to trade. My kid had Frankfort, Whitley County, Perry Central, Williamsburg and Somerset stickers on his helmet during the game.

you can add the state of Kentucky's leading tackler, Jefferson Patrick, to the roster for ky. Jefferson amassed 500 something tackles in his 4 yrs at williamsburg. I spoke with Jefferson earlier today, He said he initially declined the invite due to a turf toe injury and did not want to take up a roster spot preventing one of his fellow team mates from playing knowing that his injury could prevent him from playing his best. Just shows what type of kid he is by putting his chance to shine in a all star game aside so his fellow team mates could get a chance to play knowing there was a possibility he could not perform.
