Somerset 2015

Maroon State Champs Wrote:your hilarious no one cares about Somerset. state champs don't concern themselves over little bunnies. we may stumble some day in the future but that ain't now, stop living in the past we don't have time to play 0-10 2A schools. I am sure we can win at least one game in our worst season though :biglmao: come up the road and see our State Championship trophy

If you don't concern yourself with "little bunnies" then why are you here?

Back on topic. Jumpers start spring ball next week, should be interesting to see how they've improved.

Remember that girlfriend you dumped who "is totally over you" but can't seem to stop bumping into you wherever you go and telling all your friends what an ass you are?

Good luck with spring practice. I'm sure it will be a challenge with only seven players.

the reason I am posting is to check you and your excuses for an 0-10 season. back to topic the way you talk your district and regional foes should expect Somerset to win both. Good Luck.

don't get mad we won the first state title in the county. something you guys could not do. Everyone hates winners and champions, haters gonna hate. Enjoy your season sounds like you guys will be back to district championship caliber football while we continue to play state championship caliber football.

won't be to hard to improve on an 0-10 year. Good Luck. I will leave you alone now. Go Maroons State Champs!

Alitttle cocky for a team that won there first state title. Be classless, and bash somerset all you want. Even without a title everyone has heard of somerset, and they have been, and always been relevant. Pulaski County has not always been a contender, and never will be that. Enjoy your title Caldwell County east, and brag all you want cause your run will end soon, but somerset will always be in the mix. For those Pulaski fans that think they will cakewalk to a 5a title this year not so fast. Highlands aint graves county, who was just not a very good team. I watched Mayfield shut them out. Bowling green was not as good as the previous couple years, but was still the best 5a team. They would have beat Graves or Pulaski at least 8 out of 10 times. Bowling Green had the worst game they have had in years. Yall wont win 5a this year. Keep it classy Pulaski.

No excuses. We were young and had a terrible year. Enjoy your last year with hall and company. When they're gone you guys will be a toilet bowl again, with a shiny new turf field to slow stroke to.

That's why I reffered to them as Caldwell County east get a crop of players in at once then brag you are the best in the area. They actually start believing they will stay on top when history says they are rarely a state contender. There fans will be disappointed when they go back to being mediocre. Williamsburg I think had this to, but I think they will stay at least in the top 10, but wont be in the top 3 very often.

 Somerset, somerset everyone has heard of them because they have been around 100 plus years and have not accomplished what we could in a quarter of that time. A state championship. We will be in the mix again this year as we have been the last two. Everyone hates the Kings of the Hill LOL We are a state champions and Somerset is the oldest and best program to have never won one to whom can we compare this title less program? No one, even everyone in there district has won one at some time in their history. Good Luck!

we will enjoy that trophy forever and the satisfaction of winning the first one. We haven't been in the toilet bowl for a very along time don't see being in it after Hall leaves, on the other hand you know more about being in a toilet bowl better than me. you go 0-10 with your stud Qb Hatcher, so what will it be like in Somerset when he graduates this year? I guess you could go 0-11.
now get back on topic. Somerset will go 3-7, 4-6 at best.

Maroons were 3-8 in 2011... That would've been Halls 8th grade year. You guys had a great class roll through and won a title. Happy for your kids, but you're a fool if you think it was won by a program on the brink for decades... No... You're not going to find me begrudging Pulaski, it is something special and to be celebrated for the kids, but you're pushing your limits.

and before that we were solid. 3-7 ain't 0-10. now let it go and get back on topic.

Are you not interested in discussing your great success prior to this current Maroon senior class? Back on topic? I think I said that in this thread a long time ago.

No predictions for the jumpers record wise, but they will be better.

The easiest way to tell when a non relevant program has just hit a big run of talent unusual to them is when you see new posters popping up for a school that doesn't usually have many posters. Especially when they are running that mouth at a historically good football school, and especially if the poster has only 25 post. Where were you a few years ago when no one had heard of yall. If yall do stay on top at least you will learn that ole saying "act like you have been there before, and that you are going to be back again." Its ok to be confident in your team, but bashing somerset is just your childish way of saying we have finally arrived, so now I can brag.
You may have a good season:trolldad2:

:lame: BLAH, BLAH, BLAH
No Somerset fans I know hate Pulaski. You're trying your best to get us to hate you but I won't. I do hate that the Pulaski Co school system failed you so.

Pulaski County schools did not fail to deliver our citizens a state title. good quote that is why I am going to stop arguing with somerset fans like JP1.

I don't have a "dog in the fight" but, you did come onto a Somerset thread and started to critique their team. Fans are going to defend their team and their kids no matter the record of said team. Sounds like Pulaski's year speaks for itself! Why make a bunch of kids who read this feel worse about a 0-10 season. Your team won a state title and that should be enough said.

On a more positive note Southwestern only had 1 win in 2013 and look what they accomplished last year. I like underdogs and I wish Somerset the best next season.
This is ridiculous. PC won a state title, we get it. Nothing but respect for that entire team, great group of kids, much deserving. But isn't this a Somerset post? Fault us for being excited for this coming season? Everyone is 0-0 show a little respect for the kids and keep your trash talk to yourself. Also, calling out kids by their last name in a negative way should result in a band from this site.
I haven't posted since last year and I wasn't going too, but I hope NCC and Somerset get to renew their rivalry in the near future. Good luck to y'all!

You're an idiot apparently. I guess I opened myself up to this by engaging in conversation with a person who claims to be a maroon on the Internet. End of conversation, go jumpers, looking forward to spring and our 3 players left from the mass exodus to the county.
Please don't classify all Maroons in the same category as some of these fools.

On the topic of Somerset, I can't help but wonder what some of you think is different this year compared to last year. I expected a good year last year and was very disappointed. I just don't see much of a difference this upcoming season. With that said, would another below .500 season put Coach Lucas squarely on the hot seat? Looking for a serious Jumper perspective. To be honest, I expected him to leave the last two post-seasons on his own for other jobs.

I wouldn't go that far. Cobb had several below .500 seasons and not near the success Lucas has had. Things can change drastically in a season. Look at 04-05 or 08-09. We were young last year with a small senior class. This year we return pretty much all of our skill players and the middle school teams over the last couple years have been solid. I wouldn't consider us to be in the dark ages of Somerset football just yet.
Somerset may not have a state title but they have plenty of trophies. Pulaski doesn't win that title if hall didn't return.. I hope to see them win it again just like I would like to see Somerset win 2A.

Pulaski may have also went undefeated had Hall not gotten hurt. Goes both ways.

I'm just speculating based on the possibility of back-to-back rough seasons. I haven't seen that out of Somerset in awhile. Accordingly based on division in the middle school landscape, Meece has kept up with Northern & Southern at that level. If I'm not mistaken, Meece won the state championship the same year that Northern won theirs in 2011. May have actually won 2, correct me if I'm wrong on that. My point being, there should be plenty of talent at Somerset right now to win in 2A.

Yeah I got you, I think it is more likely that Lucas takes another job before he gets put on the hot seat. As far as I know he is still very secure with Somerset. I am, admittedly, not as close to the program as I'd like to be though as you can probably tell from my location. JumperPride1 would probably be the go to guy on the players coming up. I do know that the 8th grade team either last year or the year before should have won state in their division but were disqualified from the playoffs due to playing a player for a couple games that was a week or two too old, or something of that nature.
