To answer your other question gut, I think Mayfield, and Corbin play in 16 at Lyndsey Wilson also, and I expect them both to be as good or better that year to.

Corbin had 78 players dress out for picture day, 34 of them freshmen.

I thought people were talking about a 90+ man roster?
Still great numbers certainly...but a far cry from what some were saying

Agreed to me freshmen don't count in the varsity numbers to me unless they start or play a lot. Most teams don't even take freshmen with them on away games.
to me this gives Corbin 44 kids on varsity which is average for 3A they only have 34 listed on KHSAA that's sophomores and up. No freshmen listed
with that said that a big freshmen class if they can keep them together. Shows you the excitement behind the new coach

78 is plenty good enuf..... What matters is, they will be playing 1 way... Either offense or Defense or special teams. That's should reduce the stress and injury of the games... Also, gets the players a lot more reps in practice. And the key is, they should be a lot fresher on the field of play... That's saying a lot for a 3a team. I doubt there is a team on their schedule or they will play all year that can say the same thing..... I could be wrong tho... All is good in Haddix Land! Greer will have the D ready! Haddix possibly could have a few growing pains with a first year starting QB, but it will work out in time... He has came a long way over a year and I expect him to really do good even from the start. The game is won at the line of scrimmage, that's where they look the best...

It looks as if The Redhounds will have some new uniforms going into this season. Definitely a much better look than the past few years. I would say that the number font will take some getting used to by the old timers but they aren't too flashy.

The first group photo was the Freshmen. This is the Junior class.

Redhounds looking GOOD!!!!

Excited for the season to begin. Can't wait to see the Redhounds in action next Thursday. Then I guess I'll head to watch Whitley Friday.
Keep hearing good things about the Qb, RB, OL, and DL. Uniforms are Ok I guess, not a huge fan yet of them to be honest. Wonder if the Helmets will change too? Hope not...

In those photos, the helmet appears to be the same. I just wonder if Redhounds is still on the back of the jerseys? Surely, it would be.

7-8 of those Freshmen will play a role on the Varsity. It may or may not be a significant one, but still varsity minutes. There will also be many more that will more than likely play special team roles.

great is questionable.

I like the new jerseys. Corbin has been wearing the same thing for years and I figured Haddix would like to change them. Sometimes that's a good thing. There is nothing wrong with a little change.

The helmets will stay the same. Haddix said so himself on Twitter. My understanding is that Riddell wouldn't print redhounds on the back so they are having patches made that sew on which say redhounds. So the short answer is yes they'll still have redhounds on the back.

Platooning definitely helps.
Central platoons exclusively.
Belfry and LexCath pseudo-platoon. Belfry's Oline plays one way and they try to play as many skill guys one way as possible but they will have 3 or 4 guys playing both ways.

Any idea what the format will be and in what order each team will play the other? What time does it start?

Redhounds if they make that far will be just another speed bump on belfrys ways to another 3a state championship.

the Pirates are on a sinking ship. if they make it past Corbin they'll get hammered by Boyle County.

According to the Corbin High School Athletics website, the scrimmage starts at 6:00. In the past the way 3 teams worked was team 1 vs team 2 for a half, then team 2 vs team 3 for a half, and finishing with team 1 vs team 3. That way every team plays a full game. I don't know if this year's scrimmage will work that way, but like I said, Corbin has done this several times in the past.

Hope to get to see the Hounds take their first steps towards a great year tomorrow
