This is a big week for bragging rights in the county. Middle School playoffs today, Southern vs. Northern. Monday, JV Southwestern vs. PC. And finally, Friday, the big one, for the district championship Southwestern @ PC. Who wins this one and why? I have to go with SW. I think their o-line and backs are good enough to play ball control and keep PC's high-powered offense off the field. Although PC seems to be peaking at the right and SW played a terrible 1st half at Lincoln last night, I still think Coach French will have a outstanding game plan and pull this one out 27-21.

Well, I have to agree with your assessment. If Southwestern can implement a ball control offense, and wear down Pulaski's defense, it could work well for the Warriors. BUT, Pulaski is playing great right now, and just one chink in that armor, and Pulaski's offense will run rampant.
There isn't any bigger games that this kind of game, and I'm sure the atmosphere is going to be electric!!
Good luck to both teams, and I pray that you play injury free. As far as predicting a winner, I'm gonna have to think a little longer.

If Pulaski does not win this game by at least 28, then their will be a new 5A champ. IMO, Southwestern may the most overrated team in the state.

The only chance we Warrior fans have at see victory is with the ball control Offense. If we can limit Halls touches we have a chance, slim but a chance none the less. Defense cannot let Hall and the Maroons just sit back and pick them apart, must create turn overs on D and limit our own mistakes. Can't give them any extra yards with penalties, must get off the field with 3rd down stops. A very tall order for sure...Goo Warriors!!!

My heart says warriors but reality says maroons. PC passing game vs. SW secondary is a big time mismatch. PC's special teams play is also better than Southwesterns.

If D Butte was still playing safety I'd say Southwestern had a chance,but he's not and the Warriors don't have a chance.Austin Daulton is a beast and I can't wait to watch him play on Saturdays somewhere big but the Maroons high powered offence is just to good!

Ball control ball control ball control. Sw has a shot if they control the ball. Pc turnover or two would help. If Sw can win up front they have a shot. Danny woukd been a huge help

Henry clay gives up 38 points per game, Corbin gives up 14, there isn't much comparison there. Plus if you saw the actual game I don't think you'd consider hc a quality win, they did not want to be there playing in the mud.
The losses on the other hand is an embarrassment for sw, I think they are a different team now.

Didn't two of Bourbon's coaches coach under French at Boyle, it's tough coming in and playing a team that has had all summer to prepare for you (it was their first game, Southwesterns 2nd). Trying to break down scrimmage film and game film probably isn't the same either. Still though Southwestern should have won that game going away 1st and goal and can't get in up 21-0 then the next drive is a fumble inside the 15 up 21-7, breaks fell off after that. There was a lot of huffing, puffing, and wheezing going on.

Playing in the Mud or on the turf it wouldn't have mattered in the HC game.Pulaski gave them an old fashion country butte kicking! One thing Southwestern isn't thinking about is,Hall didn't play in the first game last year and the second game they played was his first after his surgery. They haven't played a healthy Riley Hall since his sophomore year.This game could get ugly in a hurry!!!!

After watching both in person I think the game will be close early on (rival game) but as the game gets into late second , early third i see Pulaski pulling away. Pulaski County's offense is better than Southwestern. Pulaski county's Defense is better and so is their Special teams , so to me that spells disaster for the warriors in this one. The Mr. FootHall canidate will be too much for the SW defense. Riley will have a good showing for 4 quarters and this victory should really catapult him up the Mr. Football ratings and voters will be watching. I have no dog in this fight 42- 14 PC

I can see people picking PC, but picking them by the margin some are is crazy. French don't get beat by that type score, ever.
