Thank the heavens that basketball is here and Stoops and that abysmal football team is an afterthought.

We were so close to blowing this game wide open tonight but just never did.
A wins a win though.

Duke will struggle.

I will admit, I was surprised with how well the Cats played. I expected this team to be really good, but not until they had a few weeks to jell. With the bigs in foul trouble all night, the three guards were outstanding!

I don't think Duke will struggle. It won't be every game where Ingram only scores 4 and Allen only scores 6. They may not be as great as the teams of the past, but I believe they will be competitive come season's end.

UK looked good to me last night, BUT we need to rebound!! We also need to play a little more aggressively, IMO. Every one of those kids need to play like Plumlee!!

Had UK stopped the offensive rebounding by Duke in the first half, this game would have been a massive blowout, after they clamped down on that it was smooth sailing. The three guard look is going to be fun too watch this year.

Finally got a win against the crazies! Yet I do agree, Duke will be in the run for a championship once again.

I have not enjoyed a game more since John Wall left. I am very thankful that the Harrison twins did not come back for another season. Ulis and Booker should have played much more last season. The chemistry of this team just feels right.

How did you not enjoy the National Championship run in 2012? Or the improbable final four run in 2014?

I'm excited as anybody, but Duke sucked last night. We played well and it will be a really fun season though, but they will have their ups and downs.

I like unselfish play. This team is blessed with team players who can pass the ball. I hated watching the ball hogging twins.

It was frustrating last year, that's for sure. What didn't you like about the 12' team?

What was frustrating was watching two guards who were not very quick on their feet but were quick on the trigger turn the big guys into spectators. Cal has pretty much admitted that he stayed with the Harrisons too long against Wisconsin. I would say that he stayed with them too long all season long.

I am going to enjoy this team play, win or lose, because they are fundamentally sound, unselfish, play hard, and seem to really enjoy playing the game. Last season would have been much more enjoyable if Cal had awarded PT on merit instead of some misplaced sense of loyalty to the Harrisons. Booker and Ulis should have started last year by mid-season, IMO.

That boy played is heart out. He had all of Duke's first 9 points. He wasn't bending over at the waist to pick up the loose ball; he was tackling it like a line backer.

I sorta like that!

I'm aware that you loathe the Harrisons, but what didn't you like about the 2012 team?

I never said that I did not like the 2012 team You did. I said that I enjoyed watching this team play Duke more than any game since John Wall played. There is nothing for you to agree or disagree with in that opinion. It is what it is.

I don't like anything about PUKE. The Cats toyed with them. Kentucky is unbelievably good for it to be so early in the season. They have the best guards in the country to go with some pretty good big men and that will take them far. not to mention Alex Poythress is a matchup nightmare.

Haha ok. You literally said you hadn't enjoyed a game this much since John Wall was here meaning you enjoyed a 3rd win of the season over a young Duke team more than any Anthony Davis games including the title game in 2012. Just found it odd.

I'm glad happy with a Nov win, but if memory serves me correctly wasn't it DUKE winning a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP last year while you were at home licking your wounds! Neither team had more than one or two players from last years team with much experience Duke less than UK so a win in Nov give A great coach like Coach K, who is the best coach in the entire NCAA a training tool to use down the road!
