The only people who won't be expecting Belfry to be hoisting another trophy will be Phillip Haywood, pjdoug, mysonis55, and Jack Lambert.

Judging from the talent I see coming up from middle school, I see no end in sight to Belfry's dominance. A new record for most consecutive titles is not a stretch by any means!

I think Belfry will be solid for at least the next 4 years....but 2017 will be a definite rebuilding year.
This Junior Class is simply special and Belfry will be losing a ton of starters after next season... starters who have been there for 3-4 years at that.
If you want to get Belfry, better do it in 2017 because this incoming Freshman class is going to be very special in their own right.

They need to add another class just for Belfry. Oh wait they are already in a class all their own! Congrats on another title.

How would Belfry do against Louisville Male this year?
12-07-2015, 05:23 AM
I'll go out on a limb and say belfry will be back next year. Belfry has some speed in that backfield. Line was impressive along with there defense.
12-07-2015, 05:29 AM
Can't see anyone in the east stopping them. Corbin will be there in the semi again but Belfry will make the trip to BG again.

They would get romped
Male was on a different level compared to anyone besides Trinity. They would beat Belfry by 5 TD's.
Having seen all the other games though I would like Belfry's chances against any other team not in 6A.
Bowling Green would probably beat Belfry, South Warren and Belfry would be a war but South Warren matches up the best with Belfry as anyone.... I would like Belfry over Pulaski though by 10-14 points.

I would like to see Belfry play one of these teams next year in 6A Trinity,St X or Male. Someone make this happen and play the game on a neural field like EKU :please:make this happen.

Belfry vs. St. X would be fun
The other two would be ugly..

Honestly with the talent belfry brings back next year. If the players get in the right frame of mind and want to get better for the next season. I see belfry not being more than two td underdog against male or trinity next year.
So I definitely see them top 3 if they live up to the hype.
But let's take a breather because they won the state championship again and deserve some praise! Congratulations to the pirates of ole belfry high on your 3peat!!!!

They will be the favorites out of the east for sure. They will have to come thru Corbin/Bell but will still be the favorite.
If we want to talk about it...I couldn't see Belfry competing with either 6A team in championship , IMO, they would struggle with either team in 5A final. I didn't see the 4A final so no comment there. Mayfield speed would be interesting against Belfry, but Belfry would win in a close game...IMO.

Like every year the Pirates will need to replace key elements of their team. Yes they only loose a few seniors but they are important seniors.
I've felt like Gibbs is the leader of that Oline. We know some hoss will be plugged in there but this Oline has been special. Could Cole Bentley be moved to his projected college position, the current line plus Cole reworked for what they have and someone else take over TE?
Willis was on a different planet this year and was a speed threat that was exciting to watch. Fletcher, Wellman and Catron will still be there to bowl you over but who fills in as that change of pace speedster that makes you respect the outside?
On defense you have to replace two amazing players who showed leadership and heart all season long. It took quite a while this season for a leader to emerge and that became Sanger. Who fills that roll next year.
One thing I do look forward to is Austin Woolum. That kid is one of my favorite Belfry players, 2013 game winning field goal as a freshman. This season he covered some great receivers and that hit laid on Ogbogu on the punt return was nasty! He's already an astounding kicker but I expect him to be one of the hardest hitting DBs we've had next season. He has continued to improve as a DB year in and out.
Also very happy to see the player Corbett has become. Early I the year it felt like he just wasn't getting it. He made a few bad reads tonight but more than made up for it with his feet. Can't wait to see where he stands after another year in the system.

Your extent of football knowledge just ended with that last sentence along with a lot of your other stupid comments. Belfry would put a running clock on Mayfield, my gosh do you even watch football???

:thatsfunn. I'll talk about it with ya. 6A Male would beat Belfry bad, 5A Bowling Green would be be a heavy favorite, but could hold their own for a while, but Belfry would beat Pulaski by 2 scores. 4A Belfry put a running clock on Johnson Central and South Warren would be a close game with a slight favor to SW but could go either way. But then again, South Warren couldn't even win 3A last year with basically The same team. The rest of the field including Mayfield, Belfry would hammer. Mayfield was lucky with the 2 turnovers to beat NCC who Belfry beat early in the season when they where still finding themselves by I believe 19 points. Had NCC not botched the ball in the endzone and handed them 7 points the game would have been different. That's about as honest of a post as I could be, without being a homer.

Belfry was without Willis and Corbett vs. NCC as well
I have tremendous respect for Mayfield but as small as they were and with essentially 6 or 7 guys going both ways it would be ugly in a hurry.
I agree with everything you said... Belfry would be a nightmare matchup for Pulaski. The teams they struggled with were very good up front on Defense and could run the ball with mutliple options. Check and Check.
South Warren would be a nightmare matchup for Belfry...only team outside of 6A that had the pieces to stop Belfry's run game. Bowling Green would most likely beat Belfry by a couple scores in a well contested game.

I want to say #61, I believe his name is Dotson from Belfry is an absolute monster in that offensive line. I think he is just a junior as well. With all the pieces Belfry has in place I don't really see anybody touching them for a while. Again, congrats to the Pirates!!
