Which is why no decent coach will ever come unless he’s told to be the principal and leave the football team alone, it’s that simple. Problem is the words already out that Frazier left because of him and Chappel had to go to a power run offense, which he’s never ran, to shut him up. It’s great that he cares but there is so much more he could do for the program besides trying to be the coach from the principals office.

He was a good football player, and has a good community Thanksgiving dinner, but hopefully he will step back and let the coach do his job.

On a serious note, there is a lot of misinformation being floated around on the thread. In fact, too much to correct it all.

I'll agree Chappell is a great person. But he was never going to be THAT guy.
He will land on his feet quickly, but everybody knew when this hire was made it was a temporary one until the administration switched around.

I have no doubt that for the first time, this bunch will actually try to go out and talk to some big names. If they havent already, there are plans to talk to several really good coaches that I think most Whitley fans would be happy with.

Now as far as the search, I will discuss it more when its official without giving away to much, as my information comes in a lot more slowly than it used to. Dont forget my kids dont even attend whitley. However as an alum and former player I think it only right that I care enough to share the information I receive as I receive it.

I've already mentioned a former player. However there is a local coach, lets say SEKY, not head coach though that wants this job. Itll be interesting to see how that plays out.

I hope they don't hire a Redhound or a former Colonel.

They should have been a power already if the clique would make it about the kids of themselves. So frustrating to see all the talent wasted, and the kids working so hard only to be disappointed.

Only answer other than changing administrators is hire the principal to be Head Coach and get another principal. May be the only answer for a few seasons.

Agree. There was years WC had loads of talent but just couldn’t put it all together. I’ve enjoyed the battles with WC/HC and hate to see it end, so I’m hoping now they can get it together.

Dudley is getting ready to be a major player in 3A with the new alignment. Whitley will end up getting what we call "Dudded" if that's what they are thinking. Chappell to Middlesboro would be great, they are getting ready to be a player in their new district.

Dudley will go wherever the money is. It’s always been the way he operated. He’ll allow Whitley to court him long enough to squeeze another $10,000 out of Bell. Or Whitley will offer him more money than bell at which point he’ll be gone and will probably take most of Bell’s sophomore class with him.
