Well that is a fine note. I guess they were lucky to find Paul Rains to take over.

They didn’t have to look far. He was going to be the DC for Great Crossing.

Not buying that’s the reason. Gotta be more to this. Rains retires this year, I doubt he wanted to do this. I smell crap and the wind is blowing hard!

Bingo. Second time this happened in 2 months, Steve Helton girls BB Coach, backed out of the GC Boys Head Basketball job also. Not sure why this is happening my guess is they are trying to create another program like at Scott County High, not going to happen at least for another 4-5 years and the school is not splitting like some thought especially not in Football. The Scott County brand name is to strong, and closer it gets to a new school year reality is setting in. Parents and kids want to win, no matter how much they complain. Good Luck to Coach Rains, tough situation

Scott Co BOE is a joke...political and corrupt, everyone knows it.

SCHS isn't going to let the new school be it's equal. 😂😂😂

I hate it for Coach C. I have said it over and over he is a solid guy and a good coach. Definitely more to the story I think. Best of luck to him and his family.

Shame on GC

Your guess is wrong again..the problem is it is not the same.

I want to be fair to you and your comment......I read as times grows near Coaches realize that they got in over their head and are scared of lack of success due to Scott Counties program? I promise you this , Chappell knew exactly what he was getting into and has no feeling toward Scott County one way or the other. Matter of fact, Scott County is fortunate in this matter because kids love to play for Chappell and many were going to. Now, when you hire someone and you promise something, that person should not have to come back and fight for what was promised and compromise for less. Before some speculate it was not about money. GC needs to expect these things when this goes on. But Scott County had NOTHING to do with this.

Agree 100%- If I was him I wouldn't have took the job in the first place, when they didn't give him a job in January, they could have found him something. Know as far as many kids were going to play for him is simple not true. There last practice I bet 30 kids were there including 8th graders. Have nothing against Chappell he might be the best Coach in the state, but there just wasn't many kids as some say.

Lost on this one, what is not the same? If do not want to say on a msg. board I understand. I'm in Georgetown a lot, and by the looks of things. Scott County High School is the one that's coming up unequal, heck Scott County has to play there home games on there(GC) field. If ever in Scott County go by both High Schools and see who got short changed. Maybe I didn't understand your question.

Is there any chance he resigned to take the Job at Bracken County?

We have people of means who could help him sell that house tomorrow. As a community that's passionate about football, we could make him an offer he can't refuse!!

How does it take 3.5 hours to get from Corbin to Georgetown?

More like 1.5 unless you're on a bicycle.
