I've seen preseason rankings for every class except for 3A. What are your thoughts on 3A's Top 10? I'll give it a shot:
1 Belfry
2 CAL
3 DeSales
4 Ashland
5 Bell County
(My 6-10 is just a guess)
6 E-Town
7 Paducah Tilghman
8 Rockcastle County
9 Casey County
10 Powell County
*Russell could be thrown in the top 10 somewhere as well, 6-10 area.
Like I said, before some of you go crazy, this is just my opinion. I'm pretty confident in the Top 5 teams. I'm sure some will rank them differently. But 6-10 was just a guess for me. Thoughts?

All that matters is the Top 5 this year and I would rank them just like you did. CAL lost easily their best player and that makes the difference.
Russell has to be better than 8-10, those football teams are not very good.
A Belfry vs CAL final is inevitable IMO.

I agree, I think it comes down to Belfry from the East and CAL out of the West, barring any major upsets. And your right about Russell, they could be anywhere between 6-10. In fact, I would not be shocked at all to see them win District 7 over Ashland. Russell has fielded some good teams over the years. But I do think Ashland wins District 7, I just wouldn't be surprised if Russell did. I put Powell and Casey in there because I think they win their Districts.

I think Fleming County will win their district this year. I think they return way more than Powell County.

Taylor County is coming off of a 4A region championship and returns a lot. They return 9 starters from one of the top defenses in 4A last year including Jack Herron, Conner Roney, Ethan Coghill, and Carson Watson. As well as their leading rusher Wes Oliver and a D1 athlete in Tre Goodin. They finished the season #4 in 4A last year. Not sure where you rank them but I would assume they belong on this list.

Glasgow will easily be a Top 10 as well.

Glasgow and Taylor Co are both better than Casey Co, Powell Co and Rockcastle Co.

Should be one of the better districts in 3A.

There is a huge gap between Greenup Co and Russell and teams like Belfry, CAL and DeSales.

Bell and Belfry the only two in Eastern Ky that can play.
Bell and Knox are the better two in Southeastern Ky

That District is weak either way

CAL might've lost their best player but return all of their most valuable players. They will be better next year IMO. Watch film on them from last year. Milton Wright was a homerun hitter, but he wasn't the reason they were so dominant.

Without Wright they have no homerun threat, their passing game is suspect. They also have a new coach and I am pretty sure Austin Collins has moved away and he's a great player.
No way they're better this year with all of these changes.

Where did Austin Collins move to?

I heard thru the grapevine he left to live with his dad (in TN maybe?). I am not 100% positive about this however.

I'd put DeSales over CAL this year. Losing Wright, is a big deal. DeSales was a very overall young team last year. They return a lot. The defense will once again be hard nose, and athletic. I believe they will dress somewhere between 90-100 players.

East and West doesn't matter anymore play your own district in the first two rounds then tournament will be reseeded based on some kind of RPI type system for rounds 3, 4, and 5. It's gonna be a wild ride, you could see Paducah coming to Belfry in round 3.

If the KHSAA makes a team travel 5/6/7 hours for a high school football game they should all be fired the following Monday.
Period.

Not true. Theyâre splitting east and west and ranking 1 through 4. East regions get seeded 1-4 west regions get seeded 1-4.

Round four will have the final four teams in each class seeded.

IMO, that's not true. Ashland will have something to say about it. Russell should also be improved. I don't see Greenup being a big factor at this point.

1. Belfry
2. Cal* They return a ton but....I am not sure on them yet, Wright is gone and he required you to key on him. They will be different without him. Used him every play as a decoy even when they were going to someone else. Coaching change could be a deal breaker or maker.
3. I think there will be a gap from here. Out West there is a lot of talk about Tilghman being a lot better but I will have to see it before I am sold and Desales is going to be pretty good I would assume

He actually didn't get many touches at all and almost made you forget about him then boom. I did not see a single player in 2A that could handle him by himself. We played them and watched a lot of film on them and the thing they did do with him was use him as a decoy better than I have seen a player used like they used him. They also have a young RB that is gonna be special. I think he will only be a sophomore this year. Thinking back when we played them in the title game it was obvious we were likely in trouble because they were able to stone wall our run game without having to dedicate a extra man. I think most all their linemen are back.

Not much of a gap between the 1st three at all, imo. Belfry still leads the pack and will turn even more heads this season. Meeting up with Cal in the championship game would be a fans dream for both teams. This just might be Belfry's year once again.

I am hearing that new UofL commit Austin Collins has indeed moved out of state and will not be returning to CAL for his senior season.
Also there is a rumor of an "issue" with a couple of prominent players on the CAL team and they will be participating in the first few games of the season. I guess time will tell if this is true.
