Somerset real deal as advertised!

What has happened to Beechwood? I no longer live in the state so I'm out of the loop , but Beechwood loses to Paintsville last week , & gets a pounding this week . Not taking anything away from Somerset or Paintsville, but that is very unlike Beechwood. I'm not from that part of the state nor am i a Beechwood supporter ,but still surprising?

Congrats Bunnies

Congrats Somerset on the win, does the heart good to see a northern Ky team lose to one of our own.

Way to go Jumpers!

Somerset is good but Beechwood is down.

Beechwood ran the opening kick of the game back to make it 7-0. Jumpers fumbled on their next drive and it looked like they may be in for a long night. Somerset then reeled off 40 unanswered before Beechwood finally put a drive together late in the 4th to tack on another score. This Somerset team is nice.

They're young. They have some talent, not as much as in years past, but they make mistakes that are atypical of past Beechwood teams. They'll be competitive at the end of the year.

That's for sure. I'd like to see the Jumpers play at Kroger Field.

Mayfield is #1. Somerset is #2.
Everyone else is irrelevant.

Here's the deal.
I've been telling everyone in here that Somerset was going to be legit this year. The difference in these teams Somerset is playing and Mayfield is that the Cards can cover the running game and passing game with more athletes. Somerset isn't a good throwing team IMO (against elite competition),
Until proven otherwise, Mayfield is the 2A favorite.

Iâve not watched Somerset play and honestly know very little about them but would have to agree to match up with Mayfield is gonna be a different animal than anything theyâve faced thus far...

Threw the ball for 200 tonight and two TDs... so, thereâs that. They have a D1 qb and a good receiving corps.
In the second half they figured out they didnât have to pass the ball to score eat clock, they were gashing Beechwood.

Sorry FoSho, but offensively there has yet to be a weakness exposed for this Somerset team. They have thrown and run with ease on everyone they have played. The only two weaknesses that have been exposed on this team are special teams and the defensive secondary.
As for the debate between Somerset and Mayfield, we know as little about how they would compare now as we did three weeks ago. I've seen Mayfield a little (very little I'll admit) on film and athletically they seem to be a mirror image of Somerset.
Bottom line, we don't have enough of a sample size to determine who's better, and it really doesn't matter anyways. Unless LCA can bring something to the table, these two teams are on a collision course. The answer of who is best will be solved in due time.

I will keep my thoughts to myself except to say that Somerset is a very good team but I seriously doubt they would beat Mayfield.
Smoke and mirrors on their success until they beat someone that is really good. That may not be until the playoffs and if they get punched in the mouth from a team like Mayfield I don't think they're ready.
But they got time.

Both Mayfield and Somerset need to improve.
Both teams have elite QB's so which secondary is better might be a clue.
I look forward to seeing these teams play if both make it to Lexington.

While anytime you beat Beechwood it'a quality win.
With that said, Beechwood is in a rebuilding mode so they may not be up to speed until later in the season.

How are they the king? They haven't won a state title in at least 3 years.
