Last week (July 7) a Hazard football player tested positive for COVID 19 and practices continued. Now there are reports that they have stopped practices because more players have tested positive for COVID.

i know that covid is easily spread but im not sure how this happened, and now a coach is positive. If any precautions was followed it would be hard for 10 ppl to all be positive

I have a good buddy in Hazard I can call plus bac should be able to give the details. The narrative has completely changed from not enough testing to now that millions are getting tested, the spike in cases. Nobody even bothers to ask if anyone is actually sick or in the hospital...

I really hope nobody in Hazard is sick.

Definitely. To be clear I'm only asking if anyone is sick. Names don't matter and hopefully nobody is reckless enough to put anyone's name on here.

Crickets in this thread means that as of today, July 14, there still are no reports of any HS students being sick or in the hospital with Covid as far as we know. Hopefully everyone affected in Hazard is ok.

NO, they tested positive for covid 19. Not just one was told at least 5 and an assistant coach. Gaurdians or parents 2. POSITIVE TEST !

Great another basement hiding Democrat that follows the “science”. Did you not read Jet’s post on what Hazard’s head coach said? Only one person had any symptoms and it was only a fever. Do you also expect them to shut everything down during flu season after one positive? What about a cold? Do you want to shut down everything for that as well? I am sorry you are correct Pandemics are just the common sickness. Hell not only lets go back to school, which I am for safely, but Adult education with these guys. Send their ass back to school they need it. School reform for their counties because they came out of horrible systems. Serious question if you can answer without political puke, how many deaths are acceptable for you to play football? Just want to make sure I am clear. that includes parents and guardians for the kids with it. Give me a number.

Yes it is, but do you realize that way more people have died from the flu the past couple of years than will die from Covid? Alcoholism even kills more than Covid.

I want football. My family needs football. But this question is something I also pondered last night when I saw the Facebook post about my friend Coach Burdine.

How many deaths are acceptable for us to continue playing?

Are we good with family of players who contract it from their children dying? Are we good with coaches dying? Does it have to be a young person for it to have any meaning? Most probably won’t care until it hits close to home.

15 Hazard athletes and two coaches have tested positive for COVID. From what I’m told, none of the kids are in bad shape, but after one kid with symptoms got tested other kids tested and it went from there.

Contact tracing links the positive cases to a specific weight room.

The real issue here is these kids could have unknowingly packed it home to their families and folks with weaker immune systems.
