I definitely agree supporting cast matters and help from the bench! It's what hurts hazard, and why I would possibly move knott up behind perry. Chance is the most underrated player in the region.

I think at this current moment Perry Central is slightly better than Hazard. But they are still neck and neck! Its absolute fantasy gumball land to even consider Knott being number 2 over Hazard. Do you watch ball my friend ?

Neither Perry nor Hazard are strong enough to overcome a bad night against a team like Knott or Powell.

I agree 100%. It's wide open. But i think knott or powell would have to be having a great night while perry is having a bad night. I also think knott and hazard are a little closer in competition. Home team probably wins either game.

The 14th is open and gonna be competitive but Perry obtaining Combs and Hacker gives them the edge cause they are deep if guys that thought they were gonna lead can except a role instead of being a star! Best supporting cast by far. Don’t forget Edward and Faulkner combo. Powell gonna be there too.

1 Perry
2 Hazard
The rest doesn’t even really matter! but in my opinion miller will be the difference maker for Perry this year don’t know how he’s been left out of the conversation. them acquiring combs helps as a spot shooter but that’s it! Hacker and Miller will be Perry’s duo, it’ll be like watching Curry and Klay in their prime. Perry does need some experience down low that’s the only weak point I see

Daulton Combs is the best player for Perry! Not even close. Daulton and Hacker were brought there to score. Miller will run the point and do his job. Perry is the favorite but Powell and Hazard are right at their heels.

Perry will be extremely lucky to not self implode this season. To many personalities on the team and in the stands. Everyone’s all about themselves. Hell just take a look. You all are already about to cut each others throats because of who you thinks the best player for them. One says this, the other says that. This one’s being left out of the conversation and he’s going to be the best player for them. You all just set back and enjoy the show and watch it all unfold.

Powell County just got much stronger. They already returned most everyone from last year and they have just added two transfers from GRC, sharpshooting sophomore guard Conner Morguson and 6’8 sophomore CJ Thomas. These additions could possibly propel the Pirates to the top of the list of the favorites to win the 14th region in ‘26.

You are absolutely correct!! A lot of Perry’s parents were extremely disgruntled last year with Woods taking all the shots and now Combs and Daddy are on a mission to shoot the lights out at Perry so should get real interesting..

Combs will be Perry’s best player easily. He should get the majority of the shots. Miller will be Opt2 and Hacker Opt3. Others should contribute and have some good games. But I do foresee some tension in the bleachers over scoring issues and shots being taken. Good luck to Coach Hoskins with the parents.

Powell just added a 6'8 kid and Connor morguson is back from grc Im putting
1. Powell
2.Perry
3. Hazard
I doubt any of the others can compete with these 3!

I would agree with that 100% but I do think that knott county has an outside shot of being pretty good because they may have the best chemistry out of all those teams.

Does anyone know how good the 6’8 sophomore is that transferred from GRC to Powell. I noticed on last year’s KHSAA stats that he only averaged around 3 ppg but he was playing behind some very good talent and he was only a freshman. If he is athletic and skilled Powell will be pretty darn good with Morguson coming back home and Edwards, Ramsey, and Faulkner returning from last year’s team.

But when the games on the line I’m putting the ball in miller a hackers hands, combs just seems too unsure and timid in the heat of the moment

light? Same with combs. He’s coming there to get away from Seth Caudill’s shadow so he can have an opportunity for region player of the year. That’s just facts. He will have the green light anytime he wants it. Miller better get use to being option 3. Hoskins has his recruited players starting to funnel in and they’re going to be taken care of first before his ones who’ve been loyal to him are. From talking to Perry’s parents their concern is defense. A few have said they didn’t care how much they could score that if they didn’t learn to play defense they were in trouble. I guess time will tell.

How do people think it’s going to go this season when a kid who’s been recruited back in after walking off and leaving you is getting to take 25 shots a game? Factor in another kid from Leslie county who took tons of shots there with no defense to his game and it’s a recipe for disaster.(08-07-2025, 07:51 AM)Wanna-be Wrote: Perry will be extremely lucky to not self implode this season.
