Belfry v Pikeville Prediction and bets

CAM2006 Wrote:People just think that there defense is strong its just a weak Schedule they play every year. So far this year Pikeville has only played one team with a winning Schedule and they put it all over Pikeville. So there is no way Pikeville will win this game Belfry is much better than they are.

Weak schedule??? Yea Henry Clay and East Jessamine the first 2 games is a real weak schedule. And if I'm not mistaken Pikeville shut Henry Clay down through halftime. Thats an accomplishment on its own beings that they went to the 4A state semis last year. All I'm saying is that Belfry will have trouble running on Pikeville. This is the real Pike Co. Bowl and both teams will be ready. Good luck to both teams!

That dog won't hunt CAM2006.
The same can be said for Belfry.
Weak Schedule goes both ways if you look at record...and both were playing required district opponents.
Belfry 4-1
Belfry Opponents combined record--9w 15 losses
Belfry wins, opponent record----5W 14L
Pikeville 3-2
Pikeville Opponents combined record--12w 10 losses
Pikeville wins, opponent records---5w 9 L

CAM2006 Wrote:Belfry is a much better team then Pikeville. Belfry has its passing game going now and we now what there running game is. Henry Clay would of scored more if they had there QB and RB in the whole game. GO PIRATES

Not hard to get your passing game going against East Ridge and Magoffin Co.

LETS GO PIKEVILLE

where is this game at??

Just a hunch but Belfry scores early and often Friday night. Haywood calls off the dogs early in the 4th.

Belfry-42
Pikeville-6

Belfry-42
Pikeville-6
What do you base your hunch on???
No one I have talked to that knows these two teams expects this kind of rout.

His hunch is based on bias, is my guess..The style of O Belfry runs (unless they've changed to a spread "air attack" since last year?) I BELIEVE is not MEANT to score that many points. Its meant for LONG drives and grinding the clock out. I'de say more than likely Belfry wins the Time of Possession this week....Dont see them scoring over 3 TD's, even if Pikeville's D doesnt show up... (based on what i know about the offense....)

I'd say the score will be 28-7 not 28-0 Heck guys ,a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while.

Just curious, which team were u choosing to win?
Belfry of course
This will be an interesting game...Unfortunatley its one I cannot make..goodluck to both teams..Im going to have to go with pikeville on this one though

:ref1: <<<<<< I smell a rat !

Ha Ha.....I am trying to get this rivalry back to the good old days of Belfry\Pikeville like back in the late 80's and early 90's. Like I said before, it just seems like once they opened the mountains up for 119, the rivalry hasn't been the same

Hopefully both teams have a safe and healthy game and.....

GO PIRATES !!!TongueirateSho

I will have to pick Belfry in this one. I know that Pikeville has gotten the new system down better this year, but the Belfry players have been brought up in Haywood's system.

Understandable.
I like belfry 28-7 in this one
Belfry - 35

pikeville - 14 after jv goes in

Belfry boys won't let this one go down as a L too much rich tradition in Haywoods game that Pikeville just won't be able to stop. I also look for Dustin May and Corey Chapman to step it up big in this game and lead the team. Goodluck to both teams.
Belfry bt 2td's
I know this DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING but I just wanted to point it out....

Pikeville 22
Prestonsburg-6 16 point victory..

Ashland 38
Prestonsburg 20 18 point victory for Ashland...

Ashalnd 28
Belfry 27 1 point loss for Belfry...

Granted, this (IF IT WERE TO HOLD TRUE) would mean Belfry is a 1 point FAVORITE....

Having said this (and yes, I know this means nothing and every team plays a different team differently etc. etc.), THIS WILL BE A VERY CLOSE GAME.

Just throwing a few more theories out there to get people thinking. Big Grin
Belfry!
This will be a great game but I'll have to go with Belfry on the win.
does anyone know what the record for the series is now
TRAIN85 Wrote:does anyone know what the record for the series is now
With the last 5 wins, Belfry now leads 23-18.
GO BIG RED!!!!
This has been a good series over the years. Seems like the wins go in spurts for each side. If I remember correctly, the Herald Leader a few years back, said this was one of the top five rivalries in the STATE.
fballfan07 Wrote:last year the game was a whole lot closer than what the score showed...pikeville if im not mistaken was actually winning the game at the half like 7-6, but 7 total turnovers off fumbled snaps, a couple bad ints, and a botched snap over the punters head (which lead directly to belfrys first score from pikevilles one yard line) cost the panthers in the long run...pikeville moved the ball all day on belfry from 20 to 20 but just couldnt seal the deal...however with the loss of mayo this is another game that could end up being one that goes to the very end.

I must have watched a different game than you did. Belfry dominated Pikeville in every aspect.

Maybe it was more evident in the 2nd half, as it will be this year, but Pikeville never had a lead at all.

Belfry 28 - Pikeville 7
