Apple Bowl Predictions and bets: Johnson Central @ Paintsville
PC_U_KNOW_98 Wrote:Rolleyes I believe TRAIN85 is jealous of Pugh. Say what you want but Pugh put up big numbers against EVERYONE except JC last year. 10 TD's against a tough Evarts team in the playoffs, a VERY tough Lynn Camp team, he even had good numbers against Somerset, a game in which they lost (region championship). Pugh is a damn good football player in all aspects, if he played for JC they would twice as good as they are now. He put up bigger numers in the bigger games (except JC) than what he did against the weak teams last year. Last year Doderer and the runningbacks did most of the work in those games.

And Prowler, take Eagle Eye's post into consideration, if Pugh had a line he would be putting up big numbers again this year. He is not overrated, he just doesn't have much to work with. And that's really something to be betting on, Pugh being lucky to make it through the game without leaving with an injury. Talk about the ankle injury all you want, he still plays on it. Played on it against Fairview and played on it against Prestonsburg. The only way you will see him leave the game is if it's a serious injury or coaches take him out because you will never see that boy give up.

I am a big JC fan but i have to agree with you on this one. Daniel is one tough kid. I dont at all think that he is overrated i think he is a great great player. If daniel leaves this game they will probably have to drag him off because he wont go out otherwise.. He is a great player and a great person.. All this about him being overrated is hog wash..

They already lost Shane Cantrell earlier this week, more than likely lost Pat Butcher today in practice when he dislocated/broke his finger and the bone come thru the skin. Brian Walker is still out, Cody Reynolds has surgery on his knee tomorrow, "Big'N" is out with an ankle injury.
Paintsville finished practice today with 21 players healthy enough to play on Fri. with eleven of those being Freshmen and Sophs.
Things just don't seem to be aligning up just right for the Tigers!!!
But I will say this........Although I would hate to see JC pound the Tigers in the ground,I would hate even more to see JC let up!!!
Beat me by a hundred and I will say....you are that much better!!!!But never do I want to lose by just aa comfortable margin because of pity!!!! If you pull starters so they avoid injury, then that is ok....but please.....no pity!!!
With that said.....I still think my Tigers have a chance, because the last time I checked....the score right now is 0-0 and we are in it to win it......til the horn sounds!!!
Good luck to both squads and come out injury free!!
PHSCARD Wrote:Heck one of them didn't stop me from playing in that one game, you popped it back in for me and I went on until I gave myself a concussion. Tape it up, ice it down, he'll be alright.

Yeah but I doubt your's came through the skin. I don't look for Butcher to play Friday as I just got word that he's currently in surgery to repair the finger. So if everyone don't mind, I don't care if you're black and gold, blue and white, or purple and green say a little prayer for Pat. Also keep Cody Reynolds in your prayers, as he goes into surgery. I've heard Cantrell may be done for the year, I know he had fluid drawn off his knee a day or two ago and they're thinking it's either a torn ACL or meniscus tear.

me jealous of some stat driven qb from paintsville? i dont think so! i played with 3 qbs that would put him to shame. and the good thing about qbs is that they were all 3 team players and didnt care about stats. i realize that he is the only player on their team and that in all reality he is probably a good kid and just a product of either school or raising. so i could be wrong about the kids character. but we will find out against jc, pikeville, and hazard.

You played with 3 different QB's, hell you had me thinkin you were a lil kid with some of the childish things you have been sayin the last couple of days. Good for you though. Who did you play for.

uh oh sounds like im getting to you a little bit, by you calling me childish. and im so sorry if you dont like what i have to say. actually no im not i could care less. it would be a disgrace for me to mention where i played and my qbs names on the same post with your name on it. no matter what you say to me paintsville will still get trounced. that is my prediction and im sticking to it.
pm me if you really want to find out who i am or have anything to say to me personally.

Actually it did, I got the scar on my right thumb, it popped out at the base of my thumb. It didn't break or anything like that, but the EMT's said that I needed to get stitches, but I hate getting them things so I just had my mom fix it up for me when I got home from the game since she is a Director of Nursing. I hate to see anyone injured bad and have to have surgery. My brother blew his knee out playing baseball in Florida and had to have surgery, so I know what all comes with that. I just hate to see anyone go under the knife for any reason. He's in my thoughts down in Louisville.
I am JC through and through but I have to say that Daniel Pugh is a classy individual and shouldn't have to take some of the comments that have been said about him on here. Daniel has always been a very respectful young man (because his daddy would not allow him to act otherwise). So, leave the personal jabs out of it. With that said, I think JC wins 56 to 0.

I agree! This is the same arguement some try to use about JC strength of schedule. He can only post the numbers against the teams he lines up against.

JC in a big way.
Guys with the apple bowl being tomorrow night lets keep this thread clean and follow the rules ok? Thanks

I heard Paintsville sent some letters to JCHS today ! Can anyone confirm this ?
blackcat_student Wrote:I heard Paintsville sent some letters to JCHS today ! Can anyone confirm this ?

I will guarantee it. Both schools send each other a "Top Ten" list every year the day before the game, sometimes sooner. They make fun of each other and all that good stuff, use bad rumors they hear about people in the school to make them mad.

JC also sent some letters to Paintsville as well. This happens every year. It's normal.

Nope, I really did think you were a youngster, underclassman or somethin. So it would be a disgrace for you to mention your QB's names in the same post as my name. Let me tell you somethin buddy, if any of your QB's ever seen me play they would probably wish they would have had someone on their team with as good of hands as I had/got  :1:  .
I heard about one of those letters and they where pretty funny !
Pupaw Wrote:JC also sent some letters to Paintsville as well. This happens every year. It's normal.

That was my favorite part of the whole week aside from the game itself. They called me "Soul Glow" making fun of my long hair, lol. Then they made the comment "Mr. Hands, yeah we know what that's all about" and had a picture of a ding dong and hand lotion.
:thatsfunn

Man, you don't even know, they get pretty creative with that stuff.

ok if you want to run the score up on them that bad go ahead but ill say 58 to 6 only bc jc will give jv some reps...
Having just read the "list" that Paintsville sent to JCHS I can only
say that my heart goes out to some of the people who are the tar-
gets of such cruelty. Some of these students aren't even involved
in athletics and some of these taunts were in reference to situations
over which these students have no control. It's heartbreaking to see
how hurtful these innuendos are, not just to the students involved but
to their families. I understand this rivalry and I enjoy the fierce com-
petition as much as anyone. And I'm not saying that it's one-sided.
It just so happens that the PHS list is the only one I have read so far.
But the proof of which team is better needs to be left on the field.
And while a handful of students at each school may think this is "funny"
I have faith that the majority of students at each school know where
to draw the line. Hopefully the game will be well-played on both sides,
called fairly and free from injuries. May the best team win and every-
one keep their perspective about what this is - a high school football
game.

Dude, There is no such thing as running up the score between these two ! If you have the chance they will take it !
I was listening on the radio tonight on 93.1 and the station had a football talk-show on. Long story short it was told that JC scored 29 4th quater points against Boyd Co. when they were already up 34-12 to make the final 63-12 or something like that. Was word of them running up the score, and well if it happens some of the predictions of 70+ points may come true....I hope not. No team should be embarassed like that, no matter what the circumstances are.

you have got to be kidding me with this post. ever heard of a guy named jeremiah akers who led the state in receiving for two straight years. he also is #2 in the states history for receptions in a season and has the best hands ive ever seen, not you. we also had chase gibson who was a D-1 tight end for marshall. so you got a while to go before you catch up on those boys. just for the record my qbs were doug powers(led the state in passing efficiency), ben howard and matt branham( who have every passing record at pikeville) so dont get to cocky when its so easy to bring you down to reality. im sorry but you just cant stack up.

Maybe if you had come to the game yourself , you would have seen that the last 3 touchdowns were scored by the JV. Maybe then you would have a clue about what you are talking before you start popping off about stuff you know nothing about.
