I have gotten to feed my gang some home cooked favs! Last night was Spaghetti. Tonight is pork roast with mushroom gravy and carrots, potatoes, and onions. Brussell's Sprouts and Sister Schubert dinner rolls! I realize missing school is a bad thing, but being able to fix dinners and sit down together is so very important too! When there are no practices and no games, this is a pretty good time to make time for the ones I love!
So what is everyone else doing?

I'm trying to get directions to your house so I can have me some of that food. Sounds great.
I had a huge ribeye on the grill last night. Grilled food in a snowstorm is wonderful.

I made breakfast sandwiches this morning for everyone. We had a couple stranded here due to the weather! I fried bacon and sausage...(that sorta got them stirring...) then I fried eggs and melted cheese over them. I toasted Sara Lee buns and added a trace amount of miracle whip... some had bacon and some, sausage... but all-in-all everyone lapped it up! I am chopping, slicing, saute-ing, and browning everything before popping it in the pot and into the oven! I love cooking for my gang and their friends... I also love it when everyone is here and a Rook game breaks out too!

I made Pork chops sauteed in A-1, mac and cheese, biscuits, green beans and mashed potatos for dinner last night....... Breakfast this morning was something quick... egg and cheese sandwiches... I may make some homemade beef stew and cornbread for dinner... OR make a HUGE pizza from scratch... I do that quite often too....

I've got stuff for Chili or Homemeade veggie soup... but I fix things like that quite bit and serve with grilled cheese sandwiches.... I also have a baking hen and am planning dressing and all the fixin's... for tomorrow night. I love having something wonderful baking... the soothing aroma of a home cooked meal just makes coming home that much more of a pleasure!

Homemade pizza... haven't done that in a while... will have to "jot" that down for future reference!
Glad to see you on here! Have missed you!

If you think this is something... wait til Baseball... homemade corndawgs, grilled chicken sandwiches and grilled pork tenderloin sandwiches... perhaps a hamburger or polish sausage... chili cheese fries.... freshly squeezed lemonade.... Ahhhhh.... it's "The most wonderful time of the year" I love Baseball season and Baseball concessions! Heck, we even made WSIP!!!
02-07-2007, 05:39 PM
No lies there! LOL! If your team plays at Paintsville this year, don't bother by stopping somewhere to eat before hand. They have it all! YUM YUM!

I am stoked for Baseball this year! I have many big plans... and I expect BIG THINGS FROM OUR TEAM! I love our kids... heck, I even love the kids from the opposing teams. They are so funny whenever they come to the window! Kids are kids! I had one "ace pitcher" from an opposing team, come to my window HUUNNNGRYY. He'd pitched a "whale of a game" & He'd forgotten his wallet. He only had $1.50 on him...LOL... I fed him well... for $1.50...he was incredulous. I was so happy to be able to take care of that... and I would hope that other concession moms feel likewise. I'm not advocating they should "give away the farm", but I always pay for what I give & hope someone, somewhere along the line, might help my son or daughter if they should ever find themselves in a similar spot! Now... I've got myself craving a freshly squeezed lemonade....! I look forward to seeing everyone soon!

We had pork roast with some mashed potatoes, green beans, carrots, coleslaw, cornbread, corn, and some other fixin's. My parents have been sick so the cooking hasn't been spectacular this week. I am pretty pumped about going to Applebee's twice this week and having a big turkey dinner here Saturday. My birthday "week" is going to put 10 pounds on me.
IF my mom was going to cook, I love having chili and grilled cheeses during winter. Sticks to your ribs and warms you up.
Snake, those breakfast sandwiches sound VERY nice, you need to send some over.

Oh yummy... sounds so good! So does Applebee's... but we were in Richmond and eating out @ every meal... so home cooked meals were something everyone was ready for!!! Hmmm... Birthday week eh.... Well, it's your birthday so go forth and conquer!:letsparty

When mom gets better I will start requesting some food but for now some good ol' spinach dip would hit the spot.

Here's a funny... I sauteed the onions & mushrooms... in olive oil and special seasonings and so forth. I mixed the liquid portion and added pearl onions and celery and carrots... as I went along I was browning the pork roast too. So I am getting ready to add the potatoes and my son comes thru and asks if I am fixing mashed potatoes.... soooo from the tone of his voice, I said, "Yes!".... I popped the roaster in the oven and sliced the potatoes. I popped them into a salt water bath until time to plop them into buttered boiling water. I guess we'll have peas instead of brussells sprouts... unless someone complains... then we'll have both!

I just made some fried chicken, fried potato's and mac and cheese. For dessert it was a warm pan of brownies which I put in a bowl with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and some hot fudge over the top. Homemade hot fudge cake. Yum.
