SHELBY VALLEY (5-3) @
PRESTONSBURG (6-2)
The battle for the district title, as Prestonsburg welcomes Shelby Valley to Blackcat Stadium. The Wildcats are coming into the game after a 42-0 whiping they put on district foe Morgan County, and the Blackcats are coming off of there bye week. Prestonsburg's senior quarterback Bobby Hughes is done for the season with an ACL injury, so sophmore quarterback Micheal Burchett will take the starting job. Most fans will be in for quite a surprise when they see how good Burchett is, but it does take a little leadership away from the Blackcats. I expect the Blackcats to win this one, but it will be a tough game for them to win. Good Luck to both.
Prestonsburg- 28
Shelby Valley- 14
Whats the injury update for SV?

Although I would love to see Shelby Valley pull off the shocker, I don't see it happening this year. P-Burg is the better team and it's on their home field. In order to have a chance, Valley has to bring their "A" game and hope the Blackcats haven't gotten acclimated to the new QB just yet.
I'll say P-burg 27
Valley 13

Is the backup QB the same one that played in the JV game against Powell Co?If it is, he scrambled real good but he threw the ball straight up in the air. I was impressed overall with their JV team. I wish them luck. They got a fan off exit 22 (Mt. Parkway)!!

If he was wearing the #10 jersey than that was him. He has a good arm, and he is very smart.

The only two common opponents are Bath Co. and Morgan Co. Prestonsburg beat Bath Co. by 31 while Shelby Valley beat them by 8. Prestonsburg beat Morgan Co. by 44 and Shelby Valley beat them by 49.
I think Prestonsburg has to be the favorite by a couple of TD's with the game at being at Pburg.

This will be a great game. I think Prestonsburg has the upper hand with the home field advantage, and they have had more success in past years. That will give them more confidence going into the game. But, Valley is good this year. They have what it takes to win. I agree they have to come with their A game, and make few to zero mistakes. Absolutely no fumbles or interceptions. But, they can win, and I BELIEVE they will. It'll be a close one.

Pburg will win this one 34-14..good luck to both teams..

He threw an INT in the JV game and 2 more should've been picked. I hope he's improved on throwing. I don't mean to disrespect but he made some real questionable throws against us. I wish ya luck.

The pass that was picked went through the hands of a blackcat receiver and tipped right to a powell county player. That's the only pass that was even close to being picked.

However there were at least 2 more passes that he threw high enough that he nearly punctured the clouds. If we had any athletes at all, those 2 Would Have been picked. I played DB my whole career and when I see passes like that, I lick my chops. I'm not hatin' I hope you all go all the way...I really do!

I hope SV wins this one. I think they can hang tough for at least a half before P-burg turns it on. However with a new young QB at the helm, who knows what will happen?
10-23-2007, 07:32 AM
Id say Valley in this one...

P-burg will win this one in a landslide. Their qb will be ok, P-burg is just too tough.
