I'll be the first to admit I was wrong.......Thought Johnson Central would win this one, but should've known that the best coach in the state always has his troops ready! Congrats Belfry on a very impressive win, and good luck in the post season!

Now then. We completely dominated this whole game until JC found our weak link in the backfield and exploited it. If I'm not mistaken, JC had NEGATIVE rushing yards for this game, and if not for 5 passes would have been completely shut down. Yet again, the Pirates simply wore the opposition down. You could see it after the 2nd TD, JC was tired and ready to give up.
Then they hit a pass. Then another. They came back to life, and almost made a comeback. If they'd have gone with their passing game early on, the score would have been different, and the outcome might have been as well. Like I said, this game shows us where we need to do some work in order to be perfect.
Andrew said he was OK... while the staff was carrying him off the field. It's his left knee. He seemed in high spirits though, so maybe they were carrying him as a precaution.

Way to go Belfry, I said from the start if Belfry stops Grimm, they have no problems... Now about the pass defense, it was great until the 4th quarter, we new we had won the game, an started playin lax... We had 3 or 4 interceptions... John Young was flat out leveling people all night long, hats off to him... Also Andrew seems to just have a real bad charlie horse nothing serious...

Elkins will be going to Huntington in the morning to get checked out. If push comes to shove we can rest him next week if need be. If you remember we rested Fransisco when he got hurt back in 85 and Coach Cassell stepped in as QB and got us to State! We did it then and can do it again!

First off, Belfry has the best defense that I've ever seen at the high school level. They can cover the pass, and they can stop the run. Johnson Central couldn't do anything on offense. Just a guess but I don't think the Eagles had over 100 yards of total offense in the first three quarters on the Belfry starting D. But once again Johnson Central's Nathaniel Dials played his butt off. Dials will make one heck of a college player. Congrats Pirates!

Best high school defense I have ever saw....
I had the feeling Belfry could win if we limited our mistakes...and other than the pass for JC's second TD, we dominated the Eagles in every aspect of this game..they could'nt stop the run and it gave them fits all night. JC just could not get in their offense at all...

I listened to this game and Johnson Central was pretty much a one man show with Shawn Grim being really the main man. Johnson Central should have tried to pass a bit more instead of trying to run Shawn Grim just about every play.
