Congratulations Red Devils. I knew Mason didn't have what it takes to advance deep in playoffs.

You gave us a great one Mason Co!!! Have one question why did they re-kick the ball on the onside kick? Fumble was recovered. No Flag...., still don't get it.

I had my walkman on as I was watching the game and the side line guy said that neither of the refs could figure out the call so they just decided to do the kick over.

I actually had the perfect angle on that play from the Mason sideline. The Russell player called for a fair catch but muffed it, but the side judge didn't see that the ball had been muffed and blew his whistle calling the play dead. The other official came running in to overturn the call telling him that the ball was not caught and was recovered by Mason. The end result was an inadvertant whistle which resulted in a replay of the kick.

Honestly I thought the Russell players knee was on the ground when he caught it and then got hit. Either way Mason County did it again on the rekick and recovered. There was just no excuse for that one.

I agree with you 100 % call it one way or the other and move on

Adam Foster was terrific tonight for Russell.
Mason County really pulled out all the stops for this one. Russell made the big stops when they had to and then finished with a classic drive running out the clock. A good showing by both teams.

I thought Mason was going to score there on that complete pass to a lateral.

Trips to the short side of the field and a single wide out to the wide side. Russell actually had it defended pretty well dropping off deep and keeping the play in front of the cornor and the safety but some poor tackling on that play almost cost them.

I agree. Too many officials have been blowing calls very badly this season in a lot of the games I have seen. I've actually seen 3 "do-overs" in the last 2 seasons. They seem to only happen when one official completely blows a call while another sees the play correctly, but the correct call cannot be made because of an inadvertant whistle by the official in the wrong killing the play. I can promise you that the Russell's players knee wasn't down when he caught the ball because he never caught it. It bounced off of him.

I couldn't believe Mason didn't keep thorwing the quick slant route. Russell's corner was playing way off and Mason completed it every time it was attempted from what I saw. This game really could have went either way. Mason's late interception thrown into the endzone started to seal their fate.

I was across the field and didn't have a good view of it. We just couldn't figure out what the confusion on the part of the officials was about. The only reason I could come up with was that maybe his knee was down. It was pure speculation.

Hey...Belfry has to take care of business next week...so don't start that crap! Franklin Co found out tonight about looking past someone.....they got throttled by Harrison...of which Franklin drilled a few weeks ago. You play'em one at a time.

I was surprised they did not run that play until we stopped it. I don't think we stopped it one time.
