Clay County vs North Laurel
Red Bird vs Jackson County
This tournament will be held at Jackson County. My predictions are North Laurel champion Jackson County runner up.
Thats basicly a given is it not

Clay County has beat North fairly easy twice this year, and North has yet to see Clay's ace. I'll take the Tigers 6-2.

Good point... I had not seen that until you mentioned it... However I do not consider a 8-5 win and a 9 inning baseball game a fairly easy win...

The catcher over threw everyone and the ball ended up going to the CF wall, then in the 7th their closer struggled getting it across the plate. Clay was up 8-1 in the other win and they just went in to coast mode. Clay also pitched their #3 and #4 pitchers in these 2 wins. North has the experience edge, but Clay County is by far the most talented team. If Hobbs throws strikes tomorrow the Jags might not get a hit. Ask Whitley County about that. They had 1 hit and it was off of his curveball. It should be a great game, but I have to go with the Tigers. As long as they have good discipline at the plate and make the routine plays in he field they are going to be tough to beat.

Very true, but has Clay seen North Laurel's Ace as well. Who knows how they will hit against him? It could be a lot closer game, or could end up in a defeat if Clay County takes a "coach mode" approach tomorrow.

I dont think Clay will hit Shanon (Norths Ace) if he pitches which im sure he will. SO it wont take alot of run support for North to pull out the win in the end.

If the young Tigers make Shannon throw strikes, which he sometimes struggle to do, they should be alright. I think North will have more problems with Hobbs then Clay will have with Shannon. Hobbs has got the gun up to 88 mph this year.

88? How come nobody has heard of him if he is throwing that hard? I seen them play and I didn't see anybody throwing that hard, and they threw 3 different pitchers that day.

He's a pitcher only. He has only been with the team for about a month. He was being recruited by Union, Georgetown, and Cumberland, but decided he wanted to play baskeball in college. He gave up 3 hits in 7 and a third inning tonight aganist North as the Tigers won 2-1 in 10 innings.

Sounds like a great game. Why has he only been with the team for a month? Is he a transfer or something? Or did he just come out late in the season?

Oh I see. I just can't understand how somebody that throws 88 MPH would rather play basketball then run a chance of getting drafted. Who knows? How many times as he been clocked at that speed?

Not saying he doesn't love the game, but his love basketball is muc greater. Which is the same for most kids in Clay County.

I realize that, but it is still hard for me and probably most people on here to believe that he is hitting that high on the gun. You would with how down the 13th Region is that if somebody came out throwing that hard, no one would touch him. I just haven't heard anything at all about this kid throughout the year and usually you would hear something about a kid throwing that hard.

The reason he doesn't absolutley shut people down is because he has control problems at times and he struggles to get his breaking ball across.
