All I'm saying is that both Paintsville and JC have good to great coaches this year. Hopefully both will stay and keep building better programs than they both have. But with Matney high maintenance so to speak, and with JC being such a large school, he should be producing and has more pressure to produce. And yes, it is about money to the particular school. If Matney brings in the cash and wins, then please reward the man because he deserves it. Same for any school!!

As for this game, despite being more of a Paintsville fan, I can see no way for them to win it. JC has just played too well against too much better competition. They are on another level than the Tigers which have a great season going as well. Let's just enjoy the Apple Bowl, bring in the cash, and hope no one gets injured for either team on a game that really doesn't count for either school, other than bragging rights!

Paintsville better stop the penalties they are averaging or it could be worse than it needs to be!! This game is a mismatch anyway. The Tigers are much improved over last year and are IMO better coached. But I believe that JC is just too much for them this year. If not, then JC won't need to worry about Ashland, Belfry or the playoffs.

Don't forget that at the last apple bowl at Paintsville the clock did not stop in the 2nd half. It ran during timeouts and was immediately reset and started at the end of the 3rd quarter. If I remember correctly the second half lasted exactly 24 minutes. It will be tough to set the record if that happens again.

They even ran the thing during the extra point. Central scored a touchdown at the end of the third and the extra point was kicked during the fourth quarter. We may be the only team ever in football to score one point in a quarter in football.

Well of course we all expect JC to win but in my opinion if a 5A school can't beat a 1A school they should be embarrassed. Its kinda like if you win big deal you beat a 1 A school and if you lose then you got beat by a 1A school and just to be honest if you go by the size of the schools and the amount of kids JC has to pick from Paintsville should never beat them in any sport.

Like I said before this game should not even be played anymore for Paintsville will never compete in football with JCHS again. Well not till JCHS take the series lead anyway!!!

I wasn't referring to you, but obviously you think your comments don't show good sportsmanship so lets let that be that. I think we all agree that this game shouldn't be played and it's not just because JCHS has finally built their program up. These two schools are completely different classes and should move on and play people that will actually benefit their season.

I think they should run the score up as much as possible. Make Paintsville stop them. That's all they want to do is bad mouth Matney for being a winner. So, Matney should make them eat their words. But that's just my opinion. this game is never going to be a friendly one, so why even pretend?

As soon as their is a 45 point lead the clock runs continuously except for time-outs. That includes scores. heck, as soon as they are set to start a new quarter they start the clock even befor the snap. It would be very hard for any team to put up 100 points in a game anymore. JC should win this game easily. But I would bet it would be a lot easier for the Tigers to win this game than it would be for the Eagles to score 100 points.

Yes this is one of the best teams that has come though JCHS. You say that the defense needs to step up, considering the strength of schedule they have played considerably well IMO. Yes they will have to play better defense to beat Highlands. This group is capable of winning a state championship! Remember they have to come to the nest!!!

I dont think that anyone has ever accused them of being the best JC team ever but they are one of the best especially on the offense. As far as the defense goes they are a good defensive team EXCEPT for the most important part, the fundamentals. They get to the ball but they dont tackle well. That isn't usually a characteristic of o Jim Matney team but facts are facts and they dont tackle well.
