I think they will have an awesome season...these kids didn't start playing football this year and they are ADJUSTING just fine...can't wait to be on sports overtime every friday night!

I know this. Champman has some good talant but one year will not be enough time to produce a winning season. Coach Mac had aot more time then one season and never had more then 5 wins. Rome wasnt built in a day.

just depends on how much the line improves....if they improve alot could be a regional champion were talkin about....if they dont we might win any wher from2-5 games.
the skill players are pretty good and cory gannon is a tackling machine, and jordan taylor is one of the hardest hitters in 3A so we may do great things next year.

6-4 regular season (losses to Belfry, SC, Boyd, and Pburg)
#3 seed
1st Round Playoff win and 2nd Round Exit

Very respectable season for all intensive purposes. I think Chapman will get Central to a competitive level within the district, but it will take some time. Belfry and SC will still be 3-4 TD's better than Central this season.

:please: How can you even say P-burg would even have a chance to beat PC when they lost what 16-18 players to graduation? Boyd Co. 7-5 last yr. lost 16 to graduation plus QB...Belfry 13-1 lost 15 to grad. and there QB....SC 10-3 lost 9 to graduation there back field and most of there line and D-fense....
PC 4-7 lost 3 to graduation 2 was OL and 1 WR...PC has a lot of players that started last year comming back...:blabbermo

Stats dont lie. Although they have quite a bit returning, in order to get 7 or more wins like some think they will, they will need some major production come this season.

I agree, Chapman will be able to do that with the talent he's getting...

Chapman knows defense but his offensive calling has really yet to be proven.
He will have them defensively sound at Pike Central and defense wins championships.

AGREE...

Did they not hire Coach Hollan from Perry Central to be his assistant coach? If so, he will help a lot calling the offenses for him. He is a smart guy and is bringing his son with him too. Was a good hire for them.

do not sell Coach Chapman short on offense.....I played for him years ago when he did call offense as well as defense......he will get the job done, he will make everyone better......he has forgotten more football than most of us will ever know
#77
Chapman knows offense just as well as Holcomb.
#78
Chapman knows offense or he wouldn't have been such an outstanding defensive coordinator. You have to know offense to coach defense.

That's exactly right.

Where did you get these numbers? SC lost 2 starters on offense(1 rb;1 og) 2 starters on d-fence(mlb, de).Last years team had 5 jr. ,3 soph. , and 1 fr., on offense along with the 2 sr. Defensive wise SC had 2 sr.,5jr., and 4 soph , with 2 fr. subs.

Coach Hollan was hired to be the defensive cooridinator, Chapman will be calling the offense, and he knows it like the back of his hand.
#82
Central will do good but i just can't see them beating pburg.
#83
not calling any game a win or loss, season is still a long way off, but p.c. is going to suprise alot of teams this year

I know cody didint run the ball an eighth of how much he should have and the reason aaron didnt get sacked that much is because he is very very agile and we had hadley anchoring the line and we were not exactly deep on the line but we had some players we could sub in. but hadley and jacoby arent gonna be there nexy year. but all in all we could be one of the best teams around here but we could also be third in the district again. hopefully we get alot stronger and have more stamina cause if people will remember we had hazard if we coulda kept it up last year.

i read on a thread that pc has lost 3 guys to phelps jus wanna kno if its true?

GOOD LUCK TO PCC, I THANK THIS IS THE YEAR FOR THEIR LIGHT TO SHINE

Every state championship Breathitt won, Chapman ran the Defense. In 96' his defense had to face the state's leading rusher in Derek Homer from Fort Knox who went on to play for U.K.. Homer got 1 big run early and Chapman's defense shut him down for the rest of the game.

yes you are right but now chapman is coming in with a whole diffrent group of kids, who probably are not as experienced as the kids that he has coached.

Eric Ratliff fomer East Ridge Baksetball/Football will be joining the Hawk staff. from what I hear. One heck of a coach in Ratliff. East Ridges loss is definally Pike Centrals gain.
