Highlands @ Beechwood 9/4
#1
Birds will travel to Ft. Mitchell Friday night to take of the Tigers.

Highlands comes in 2-0 after beating Ryle 37-14.

Beechwood comes in 0-1 after losing to Dixie 47-7.

If you'd like to watch the game but can't make it, we will be broadcasting it live on nkysports.com.

Thoughts? Predictions?

It is time for Beechwood to take another spanking.

I think Birds name the score in this one. Beechwood is VERY small this year and I see Highlands size, speed, and athleticism making this a yawner.

Highlands 56
Beechwod 7

This will be really ugly. Highlands could phone it in! This is not a normal Tigers team. Wonder if Dale will run up the score. He may not have much choice.
#5
I predict Pain for Beechwood. They just can't matchup this year. Maybe next year but this one will be ugly and early. The JV will probably play most of 2nd half then wake up for a 10am game on saturday to play the samE opponent.

I think it would do Beechwood much more justice to play the younger Colosimo at Qb and let Rigdon play the slot some as well as in the backfield. Colosimo is too good not to have him on the field.

Highlands by alot
#8
Blue Birds win this one with ease.
#9
I like the Birds by how ever many they want.

Good luck to both teams!

I am not sure it will be worth the trouble to find a parking space for this one.

Beechwood will most likely lose this game but still should be one of the favorites (if not the favorite) to win 1A...

After this week I think you could see a small change in the rankings with Beechwood falling out of the #1 spot and most likely slipping to the #2 or #3 spot. This years Beechwood team doesn't have the players to match up with their bigger schools unlike the past few years but don't get me wrong, they are still extremely good...

This one is going to be so bad that I'm going to go see Campbell County play Roger Bacon instead. (Nothing against the Camels. They're my backup plan when Highlands plays games like this. I've got three or four Camel games on my schedule this season.)

Highlands by 40. Dale holds nothing back in this game

Hopefully the Camels can handle Bacon's size.

I agree Beechwood is still a favorite in 1A and very talented but they are very small compared to years past. I don't think their o line has anyone over 6'1 outside of I believe Larrimore (sp?) or Maricle at the TE position.

Highlands. Will be over with by halftime.

My Priorities are:
1)God
2)Family
3)Cougar Athletics!

Everything else doesn't matter!

HHS Defense will hold Beechwood to less than 100 yards. The game may get interesting in 4th quarter if BHS opts to JV players.
#22
UGLY HHS by a landslide.

Do you mean 14+ points or touchdowns cause there is no way that Beechwood comes within two touchdowns in this game.

If Dale is nice he will put the JVers in early and then the Beechies should fair well and score a few TD's.

Highlands 56
Beechwood 22

Highlands 56
Beechwood 22

It might be 56-22 if it's just the Birds JV

I think Highlands would beat Beechwood 19 out of 20 matchups. Unfortunately for the Tigers, this isn't the one year that they can win. This game will probably be a blow out early. The Birds are coming off a very physical game and I can see Dale wanting to get up big and quick to get the starters off the field. It may be a closer game next year though as the Tigers had a very talented Frosh team last year (beating Highlands for the N. Ky Frosh championship). I doubt the Tigers will win next year either, but it should be a closer game. Good luck to both teams and while Beechwood may be down, knowing the coaches and the kids in the Beechwood program, they are going to play good, hard, disciplined football from the opening kickoff to the final whistle.

Charlie22 is not painting a picture of how it could be a close game; this is a first. This has to be the proof of a blowout about to happen.

Or of one big upset! Beechwood is not as untalented as the Dixie score would indicated. They made numerous stupid mistakes; missed wide open receivers, etc. If they can straighten that stuff up, they would be pretty good. But they are young. If our coaches and players don't foolishly look past the Tigers, it honestly shouldn't be much of a game.
