this is kp's mom and kp10 is NOT Kristian.. and he only missed ONE game due to a severe bone bruise againt Fairland, OH.. .don't question my son's heart when he plays with everything he has
#32
Furthermore, he played an awesome game last night.. had some great tackles.. and this shouldn't be a place to bad mouth kids.. its suppose to be a discussion on the game.. i never seen any names mentioned until You mentioned Kristian.. last nights game was tough lost.. many mistakes were made by all.. Thank you.

Oh sorry then it must be his dad then. And sorry again it wasnt 2 games it was one and 3 quarters. Anyway it goes thats why he didnt get 30 carries last night because he hasnt played in 2 games and didnt practice except a couple days. So i dont think bashing coach hager or questioning his decisions are in order because he didnt have one of his best games or didnt have all the carries.
#35
-laughs- You are right.. He hasn't practiced that much recovering from the injury and i'm not going to fuss over my son..... He doesn't always carry the ball, he enjoys defense very much as well.. and there was no bashing of the coach.. this team is an excellent team. .all the players and all the coaches..last night was a hard lost for us all... so please think what you may.. my son loves coach hager and the other coaches.. he loves his team. that's why he plays so hard.. its not about him.. .its a football TEAM meaning there is no I in TEAM.

Thats what this forum is for...to question teams and coaches. I question Hager's decission to kick the onside kick with 3 minutes left against a team that passes. I question his play calling that lead to the second interception. Seems to be a bit rushed and resembled a panic. However I still think hes a great coach. Hes a risk taker and thats his style. I can appreciate it. And if it pays off then hes a genius. If it doesn't people question it. I would like to see stats. They have a very nice backfeild. Avery Ray is really having some nice plays. Matt Slone plays like hes 200lbs. KP is a horse and can really get tough yards. I know KP and hes a very modest kid. And hes a hard worker.

Does any one no pburgs starting roster

I believe your thinking of Coach Chirico. He is probably the most vocal coach on the Blackcat sideline.

WOW ! The beauty of a great rivalry brings out the best and worst in everyone ! Two great teams ! Congrats. to both teams ! Are we looking at an undefeated Blackcat season ?

My husband and I were talking before the game that Prestonsburg's performance in this game would let everyone know if they were serious or not...and it showed that they are the real deal ....Great game on both ends ....Officating was questionable .
HAIL BLACKCATS !

Does this suprise any one about KP playing the whole game lastnite? Ive played with him since we were in 6th grade. And our families grew us up together. When we were in Youth League he broke the same foot he injured against JC. He was in 7th grade then and came back the same season to win a championship thats heart. Kp has a huge heart and loves the game of football.

This is KP's father and I don't think I bashed anyone, hopefully these games will provide coach Hager and staff the knowledge of what his team can do well and what they need to work on. There was never any mention of any players name, but since you did KP was told before the game he would not even be playing offense. So I really can't understand why the outburst on KP, but the post I made was over schemes and game plan not individual players. Coach Hager does a fine job and he and I are good friends there was no bashing. I would like to see Hager run a spread offense with 4 wide and 1 back, but even then I wouldn't want any back to have 30 carries a game, there's enough talent to give it to everybody. But I have to respect coach Hagers' plan, also, because we had chances to win both games we've lost.

The man can't keep his mouth shut on a football field, nor should he be required to. He has more knowledge of football than most head coaches in Eastern KY. National championships at Marshall, a human highlight reel of big hits from his DB position. He knows the game inside and out, while being one heck of a person. He had been on Paintsville's staff for the last decade before following Jim Tom Allen to Prestonsburg. If anyone ever decides to hire him as a head coach they should consider themselves fortunate but I don't see it happening. He's a top notch assistant and P-burg should be glad to have him, Paintsville sure misses him.

answer me this one question please
How can you run a spread offence against a good team when your qb is 7 of 14, 64 yards and 3 int's. come on now i know you use to be a coach and might still help but iam really not for sure. you know just as well as i do you cant run a spread attack without a outstanding qb. i mean you can run one and beat up on teams that are weak but when you play teams like belfry and pburg and LC you have to have a very good qb.
come on now kp10 i have alot of respect for you and your son. kp works as hard as anybody on that team and he deserves alot of credit for having alot of heart and playing as hard as he can and he deserves the ball as many times as he gets it.
when you have the ray boy who has great speed, the moore boy who has great speed, then kp who has great speed and strength, then matt slone who also has great strength and speed but plays with more or just as much heart as anybody and not to forget the staford boy who is prolly the strongest player on the team and one of the strongest around the area why would you go to the spread? you have 5 running backs that are great players. how can you go to the spread with 5 running backs with that much talent? idc if you have a bad line or not which sc line is not bad but not good there somewhere in the middle with that many good running backs you should be able to run over people no matter what! running works for them!! yes go to the spread every once in a while and keep the D guessing but make sure you throw short passes because the stepp boy cant throw down field.

I personally just think hager chokes, but who knows,
#50
You are right on the mark, I didn't say a spread offense and throw the ball! I would run the ball only spread the defenses out and make the defense play one on one with the players you mentioned. Short passes 5-10 yards and let the back run in space, and every once in awhile throw deep after we have completed some short passes. You are right about having the playmakers but you can't expect them to run in traffic all the time when they are not physically built for that( exception Brad Stafford @ 210lbs.) the rest are KP &Mikie @180 and Matt & Avery @160. Don't forget Austin is a solid 200lbs. and he has deceptive speed, so I think this scheme would work along with an I-formation and run some sweeps and save the wishbone for short yardage and goaline.

coach hagers plan works good every game and when they have lost the D has not played really well. if you want them to run the spread then run alot of options and hb and wr screens. then mix in some short passing plays.

What's the use of blaming anyone the bottom line SC got beat and thats all you can say. Granted they played theor worse game of the year to date but throwing remarks at players and coaches are pointless and only causes promblems. Yes , they played bad and coach Hager admitted that and there should be no question as to Skyles's heart, this young man gives 110 percent on each play and should get more carries just to be honest but that is left up to coach Hager, who has proven to be a top level coach. But hey, SC lost, the world is not coming to an end so this bashing doesn't need to go on.
#53
SC was put played in every aspect of the game that is why we lost... bottom line

Sheldon Clark has nothing to hang their heads about. They are a very good team and i'm looking forward to the Belfry matchup. It will be a good game. Congrats Pburg, you guys have some classy posters on here and I hope you guys can win it all in 2A. It won't be easy, but anything is possible.

I'm not saying its going to be easy but Prestonsburg should be undefeated in the regular season now. They also benifit from one of the best alignments in the state. Them and Breathitt have an easier road than most to get to state. Pburg just has to get by Corbin and not over look anyone on the way.

Sheldon Clark has a very GREAT team and this is not their fault in the least bit, but that call for the phantom TD by the ref was just inexcusable. The refs in this game were some of the worst I've seen.

Exactly..not to mention the other phantom TD when it was actually a fumble.

What happens to refs that make ridiculous calls like that? I mean those TD's could have very well decided the game, it was close in the 4th quarter.

I agree it very well could have been a different outcome. There really isn't anything that can be done about the refs. Just suck it up to what it was- a poorly officiated game. It was obvious who the refs were for and it wasn't the blackcats.

SC has a good team but why dont they have a back-up qb...stepp just seems to not wanna be tackled he sees them coming and throws the ball anywhere....i must say the cardinals could have won that game but stepp threw the ball away he should have ran with the ball instead of throwing it when no one was open but the prestonsburg boy....Prestonsburg has an awesome team and they showed that
