From what I can tell, it's just lack of talent, and lack of interest. Many kids will be pumped and psyched for football season to start, but when they get beat early on by bigger schools and better teams, the interest goes down very quickly. The coaches take a lot of heat for the lack of success over the past few years, but I just feel like the players are more focused on other things rather than football and other sports. People point fingers at the coaches, and disagree with their scheme of football etc. But the players mentalities are not the same as they were under Brugh, or even Lemaster. It starts with the kids. Something has to change in their mindset before anything can be done about this once storied program.

The numbers aren't there like they used to be, which hurts. I disagree with your points on coaching though. Paintsville has a very young coaching staff. I just hate that Jason hasn't got any help from alumni that has more coaching experience. The only coach I know of that has coached at all in the past is Dustin Hall (defensive coordinator). I figured Dustin would run the offense, but I was informed he's over the defense this season. Over time the staff will get better, and the players will get better.
