The Apple Bowl: Paintsville and Johnson Central (A lost tradition)
#25
TIGERTIME Wrote:Steve Trimble could take the first step in playing the Apple bowl again. Let his elementary schools play Paintsville elementary. IMO this started the demise of the Apple bowl. Paintsville administrators finally said you don't play our elementary schools we don't play the apple bowl. The reason this game isn't played falls on Johnson county administrators alot more than anyone involved. They ( JC adminstrators ) won't admit it but that's the bottom line.

This is not true, Paintsville quit, plain and simple. They had had enough. To be honest, when JC set their goals higher than beating Paintsville their whole program turned around. Alot of memories for the older fans, but it serves no purpose in the JC program now.
