If not for the fumble return TD it's a rout IMO. JC wasn't stopping Highlands, Highlands stopped themselves with some questionable play calls and then while Towles was getting taped up. If they go up 21-0, JC has no chance to even get back in the game.

On a side note, I appreciated the opportunity to watch the game and not having to drive 3+ hours. However, I've never heard more whining and crying from announcers than what I heard tonight. Especially in the first half. Questioning every spot and every call. Maybe they didn't have a good view from their vantage point, but it was tough to listen too. I even tried turning down the sound and listening to the Highlands broadcast, but it was several minutes ahead of the video feed.

Overall,both teams played hard. Each guy left it on the field. Jude found out he wasn't playing patsies this week like usual. I did love his heart and effort, but he's not going to run for big yards against decent teams. (Covcath was not good). My prediction is Highlands crushes JC the next 3 years.

Is my opinion gloating? Isn't this an opinion forum? A team with about 10 guys injured came in and won on the road. It took a 60yd fumble return TD for jc to even get in the game. How does anyone think it ends up if that fluke play doesn't happen and Highlands continues the drive and goes up 21-0 and JC starts passing? It doesn't end good for JC IMO.

By all accounts, JC had the perfect O game plan. What hasn't been mentioned is that Highlands had a perfect-ER D game plan. JJ runs for a couple thousand last week but can't get a hundo tonight. JC scores 30+ per game, tonight 7. Were it not for the only two turnovers in the game, 28 - 7 or 35 - 7 would have been the likely outcome.

I know turnovers are a part of the game but so are dropped passes and poor clock management.

INMVHO, JC played as well as they could, leaving in all on the field, on both sides of the ball. The Birds offense played good enough to win. Their defense played like champions.

Bottom line is Johnson Central has never beat Highlands. Apparently tried to get away from them in the re-classification. And lastly, couldn't beat Highlands in a so-called "down" year. I don't think they'll ever beat Highlands. A down year at Highlands seems to have become when they win a state championship, but don't have a perfect record. I'm okay with this "down" year.

I have to agree with You 2dog... Thats how HHS is were their at year end and year out. If HHS does not fumble its 28 to 7.

Since a few of you like to talk about if's. What if HHS had not completed the TD pass at the end of the first half, (Which IMO took a perfect throw) and what if the DB had not fallen down on the 4th and 11 play on HHS last scoring drive? The game could it have been tied 7 all at the end of regulation.
