Jarons Wrote:The game was not that great, the Steelers lost.Yeah..all of those things that you said, especially the last drive when Cromartie pretty much ripped Emmanual Sanders' jersey off of him (no call), as Sanders had an easy go ahead touchdown. He doesnt grab his jersey, thats an easy six. Then, the last play of the game, when it was Cromartie, I believe, went all John Cena on Hines Ward in the end zone, trying to bodyslam him and everything else, which also wasnt called. Yeah, its as simple as "if Pittsburgh hits you hard, theyre gonna get flagged 15"..and another thing, I dont care if I ever hear Phil Simms' punkass call another game in my life. He couldnt have been more anti-Pittsburgh if he had Rex Ryans shlong in his mouth. I dont hate the Jets at all, and I hope they win it all if Pittsburgh dont, but I am hating the NFL's "out to get Pittsburgh" agenda. I really wish somebody would knock Goodell into a coma or something, long enough to let somebody else be commissioner and stop this nonsense. I also agree with your Troy statement. We need him bad. Without him, and especially Aaron Smith, this defense is a shell of itself. I have to give Mundy credit though, he made a great play on 3rd down, knocking the ball down to force the Jets to punt with 2:20 to go. Braylon Edwards earned his paycheck last night. He got his bell rung hard twice, and the naked bootleg was a genius call.
Ryan Clark got a 15yd penalty for hitting Braylon Edwards too hard, which led to the Jets final TD (led with his head even though he hit him with his shoulder). I will give the Jets credit on the 4th and short on a good call. Jets ran a naked bootleg when the Steelers thought they were going to run up the middle.
Despite coming up short on the final drive, Big Ben showed why he is an elite QB. With a little more that 2 min. to go in the game and one TO he led the Steelers to around the 10 yard line with 2 shots to get into the end zone that began on 8. Jets got away with a couple of defensive holding non calls on that drive. One was so blatant that the only people that did not see the holding was the refs.
It was a game that the Steelers could have and should have won. Despite the loss, they still clinched a playoff berth. They will be playing in Jan. They really need Troy P. back in a big way.
