Its huge sport. sadly ive seen it because around here it was huge back in the 90s and recent laws have kept it to a minimum today.
It was actually legal and still may be in ky today i think. Its the gambling on the fights thats illegal and thats what gets them shut down.
I actually know quite a few kids i went to school with who were just 16 and 17 years old back in the late 90 and early 00's that would bet thousands every weekend on fights.
Lots of money for a bunch of high school kids.
