I don't think he deserves any of the "credit." Remember, Obama didn't say he was born in Kenya, others did. He didn't instigate it. And, the claim was quite silly. To contend that it's his obligation to put an end to it is, in my opinion, silly. Anyway, he produced a valid birth certificate in 2008. The fact that some still didn't accept it doesn't, again, make it his responsibility to counter it.

If someone contends that Obama had an obligation to produce further proof to squelch a merit less conspiracy theory, isn't he or she demonstrating that he or she still gave at least some credence to the conspiracy theory?

Does he still need to prove somehow that he isn't a Muslim? Some people are still claiming he is.

The "silly" part of this whole thing is your response. No, he did not show a birth certificate in 2008. He produced a certificate of live birth. You can get those in Kentucky too, and they are not always admissible as proof. Yes in my opinion he is required to show that he is eligible to serve as Predident of the United States in regards to proving that he is a natural born citizen upon demand. Of course the entire liberal agenda seems to be in disregard to what ever is stated in the Constitution anyways. Not only in this situation but in many areas where the Democratic party has ignored the constitutionality of either proposed or passed legislation during the Obama tenure. Even to play Little League baseball BillyBob you have to show proof of certain things certified by a Birth Certificate. I dont think that Little League even accepts a Certificate of Live Birth as acceptable proof, but in this case it's supposed to be good enough to claim that as being concrete evidence to lead the most powerful country in the world. There is "silly " for you.

I find it ironic that after Obama calls a news conference to produce his COLB, he states that it's time for the sideshows and the media circus to end. He goes on to say that we as a nation have more important things to worry about than the "birther" issue and it's time to get to work on the serious issues facing the country. So what does Mr. Obama do with the remainder of his days' schedule? He heads straight to Oprah Winfrey's show for his own little sideshow. If you happened to catch part of the interview, did you not notice his refusal to answer Winfrey's question of "why did you wait so long to produce documentation"? Of course we cant forget the remainder of the schedule either. For the remainder of his day he shifted straight into campaign mode and attended three separate fund raising events where the opening lines were of attempted humor of the "birther" issue. That really sounds like someone who was sick and tired of this controversy and like someone who is really "serious" about getting to work immediately on the critical issues that this country is facing. Wrong again Billy, he deserves all of the credit, not part, for creating the basis for the "sideshow". I kept waiting to hear that for whatever reason it may be, that this was all somehow George Bushes fault too...lol

Oh by the way, did I happen to mention "silly" ??:eyeroll:
