The short form certificate of live birth does not establish that Barack Obama was a "natural born citizen" of the United States. It does not even include basic information such as the name or location of the hospital at which the subject was born. That is the distinction that raised questions in the minds of many Americans as to whether Obama was born in the US or was a naturalized citizen who was born abroad.

You will not find an accurate description of the issues that were raised by the "birthers" on the democrats.org website. For the past three years, Obama and the Democrats have claimed that he posted a copy of his "birth certificate" on his campaign site. At the very best, those statements were carefully worded half-truths that ignored the shortcomings of the abbreviated "certificate of live birth" that was made public.

I'm not sure, I would have to dig it up, but I don't think mine shows the hospital I was born in. If memory serves me, mine looks pretty much identical to Obamas, with the exception of the wording on top, and the State. Read the bottom of his, that is proof he was born in HI, and it even shows the city and island he was born in, as the certificate states. The link I posted above is the short form. This wording below, on the bottom of the short form makes it valid.
"This copy serves as prima facie evidence of the fact of birth in any court proceeding [HRS 338-13b, 338-19]"

The birthers have never had a real case.
