Take away the name and celebrity status and you have 27 year old lady that died of a drug overdose. When are we going to start caring that people destroy themselves? I always have and always will.

When I get a random call to preach a funeral of a junkie, what am I supposed to say? That they got what they deserved, they reaped what they sowed, they are society's trash? NO! I preach about how much God loves everyone and how he offers his grace, love, mercy, and forgiveness to everyone. I pray for her family as they have lost a loved one that destroyed her life day after day, and now they have no more hope for a recovery. Remember, when an addict dies of overdose, not only does the family have a death to try to understand and cope with, they lose the hope of a recovery.

Remember this the next time a druggie dies or if you know someone struggling with this, please be the hands and feet of Jesus and help them see hope and help in you.

That is a great post, but Ive got news for ya though, you can't help somebody who doesn't want help no matter how hard ya try. They have to want to help theirself, thats all there is to it. I have an older sister who was hooked on drugs for a few years until a little over 15 months ago. She wanted help and help was provided to her. Almost been 16 months sober now. I have a cousin who died back in the winter from a drug overdose. My aunt and uncle tried talkin to him, tried to help him, his brother tried to help him, my sister even tried to help him. She talked to him 2 weeks before his death about gettin him into the same rehab she went to.
