Tea Partiers do not even represent a majority within the Republican Party. Liberals fear Tea Party candidates because they speak the truth and so far, most of them have stayed true to their principles after they were elected. That is such a radical departure from the behavior of RINOS and 'Rats that it threatens to topple the who rotten political hierarchy in Washington.

The only hope Obama has of winning a second term is to run a ruthless smear campaign against not only the Republican nominee but also against the Tea Party (actually Parties, because there is no national organization).

The Tea Party is represented by a fairly small minority in Congress but it has both Republican establishment types and Democrats shaking in their boots. As bad as the Obama economy is, I don't think attempts to discredit the Tea Party are going to work.
