I learned years ago that educated people know how to communicate using proper grammar and spelling. Much can be learned from reading and/or listening to the communication of another. Sadly, younger people who attended government schools are lacking in these skills. That is why so many of them must take remedial classes in college and are not good prospects for employment in jobs requiring the ability to communicate effectively.

Younger kids aren't lacking in typing or spelling skills because of the learning system. We so called "lack" because its faster and easier and sometimes just habit to put a U instead of typing out you. Bad habit but texting will ruin anyone.
