How can a coach that doesn't even turn stats in be a stat padder?

Well, I guess whether you are or not is irrelevant, so I'll just go ahead and tell the story. I am going to consolidate it and be somewhat brief with what I am going to say. Hopefully you'll get the jest.

At the time that Dan Issel played basketball for Kentucky, freshmen were not allowed to play varsity basketball. During Issel's freshman season Joe B. Hall was in charge of the preseason conditioning program. Hall's program so severe and brutal that all of the newly recruited freshmen were at a revolt stage and all planned to walk out. Rupp pulled Issel aside and told him that if he would just go out and run with the rest of the varsity and do as Hall commanded that he would in turn make him the leading scorer in the history of UK basketball. Issel did, and Rupp kept his word.

All of this may or may not have anything to do with anything that Matney is perceived to do, but even if Matney did do what you suggest, it is certainly not the first time that a coach may have allowed a player to in turn be rewarded for being a model player. I dont think anyone anywhere would ever question the legitimacy of Dan Issel's all time scoring record. It's a sacred standard for all UK fans, and much of the cummulative point total came against inferior competition by being allowed to stay in a game long enough to acheive an inflated point total. Why would anyone in turn question anything that Jude (or any other player for that matter) might accomplish with a similar scenerio? Be it real or hypothetical. Jude has more than once proved that he is capable of putting up huge numbers against the very best competition that the state of Kentucky offers. Admit it or not, every team plays pud opponents every year, whether it be mandary opponents or selectively scheduled opponents and that includes the likes of HHS, Boyle Co, Trinity,etc, etc, etc. All stats are then recorded in combined fashion regardless of the competition level. As a matter of fact most no-hitters, pitched perfect games, or whatever other record of a selected sport may be, it is almost always derived from competiton against inferior opponents, yet those are never held into question, or marked with an asterisk. Why all the hullabalu and accusations over one game that Jude rushed a grand total of 9 times in over?

Again, I dont know what Matney may or may not do, but it is a proven fact that he never turns stats into the KHSAA.

If you visit the old scoreboards on KHSAA website, you will find that he has indeed reported stats in the past while at JC.

In 2005, the last stats reported were on November 1st.
In 2006, December 1st
In 2007, Novemver 19th
In 2008, November 11th

Wasn't it Chase Richardson's Senior year that JC led the nation in rushing. If Matney never posts stats, how would anyone, including WYMT and the Lexington Herald know that? Just saying...
